Would Al Gore campaign for Lamont?
I remember Al Gore campaigning for the Democratic candidate for mayor in San Francisco as well as other races. He was great and helped energize the base. It would be very meaningful for him to campaign for the Democrat--Lamont over the Independent Joe Lieberman--his former running mate. Anyone else have a thought on this?

1. I think he should...
Lamont is a bit behind the eight ball here...needs all the big guns he can get...

I understand Bill and Hillary will be making appearances on his behalf.

The only reason Gore may not is his desire to to politicize the work he is doing on global warming!

2. I believe he must...
campaign for Lamont. I wonder how Gore feels about his former running mate having his head up the ass of the guy who stole the election from him.

4. That was for a Democratic Primary though
In fact that was a call for Democrats to unite behind one Democrat before any Primaries were even held. This is a different story. Democrats in CT are finished with their primary, and now they have chosen their candidate in Lamont.

7. How did he get burned?
It gave him a link to the Deaniacs, some of whom are his biggest fans - even if they thought he was beyond boring in 2000. It didn't hurt him when Kerry won, Kerry had him speak at the convention. He is an honored statesman of the party.

9. You're right
but it was a little embarrassing at the time to have wholeheartedly endorsed Dean, who tanked rather quickly thereafter (through no fault of his own). He held off on a seconnd endorsement for Kerry.

5. That would be a slap in the face to Lieberman,
which my boy hasn't been afraid to wield in the past by endorsing Dean.

He should do what he wants, but it would be fabulous if he came out and supported democracy by supporting Lamont.

6. IMO I think he's waiting until it's closer to the election
His endorsement of Lamont would be a huge blow to Lieberman.

8. Where is Al Gore, why have we not heard from him on Lieberman?
Senator Lieberman's actions against our party should be something VP Gore would want to comment on. Or, perhaps, he is working quietly to get Lieberman to drop out and not be used as a pawn for the Republicans.I just don't know what to think. I am surprised the media hasn't been hounding him either on this.
