"I used to be Republican," said Mack. "That is, until the second George Bush played his dirty tricks in South Carolina against John McCain. He's not the type of Christian he claims to be."
...
"I am incensed by this man (Bush)," Mack said. "He had the option as leader of the world's superpower to make the right choice. Instead he chose to be totally unilateral and made the whole world angry at him."
Mack said that in his travels, most people he meets can't understand why "we Americans were so dumb to elect him.
...
"They lied to us to get us into war. For that reason alone, Bush should be impeached. They impeached Clinton for fooling around. Bush caused tens of thousands of people to die, thousands of them Americans. It is inconceivable that we re-elected him," Mack continued.
"So many people watch the FOX network," Mack said. "That's entertainment news. People...don't know they're being mislead."
Mack also spoke about the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay.
"I can't believe that Americans are doing the things we're doing there," he said. "We need to be very careful in the example that we have set for the world. I see us losing our superpower status to China, the way we're going."
...
"I voted for Bush Sr.," Mack said. "When I was here on the farm working every day, I wasn't well-informed as to who was our best leader. Now, I have some opinions. I feel so sincere in what I put on my signs. I thought that the public might realize the depth of my sincerity."
Mack said the last time he spoke out politically with signs against the religious right, some people said they wouldn't patronize his business.
"This time, though, I've only heard encouragement from my customers," he said.
