Note to Rummy: US Troops DID NOT "volunteer" to fight for lies |
|
Edited on Mon Aug-28-06 07:48 AM by texpatriot2004
in a war of choice for OIL! They did not "volunteer" to die for no reason. They did not "volunteer" to be wounded because you and your cheapskate chickenhawk lying buddies won't provide protective gear and armored vehicles. They did not "volunteer" for three tours of duty. They did not "volunteer" for war without end that has no plan to win. They did not "volunteer" to return home without sufficient Veteran's benefits. They did not "volunteer" to lose their homes due to extended tours of duty. They did not "volunteer" to be pawns for you lying evil bastards. No, this was not what they signed up for Rummy.
Support our Troops Rummy, remember...

1. They did not "volunteer" to have their lives dishonored and their |
|
sacrifice disrespected by those they entrusted their lives to.

2. The way I see it, the troops signed a contract to obey............ |
|
superior officers right up to the commander in chief. They would be willing to give up their lives. Every contract has two sides, their side basically stating that they would make whatever sacrifice their commanders thought necessary. The unwritten flip side to that contract is that they would be led by competent superiors and asked to carry out legal missions. This is where they were let down and, in essence, I believe their commanders (bush & rumsfeld) broke that contract when they were sent on an illegal fools errand.

3. The oath of (re)enlistment states |
|
"that I will obey the orders of the president of the united states and the orders of the officers appointed over me according to regulations and the uniform code of military justice" Such statement keep sea lawyers employed for years.

5. They did, however, volunteer to be at the whim |
|
of a madman, of whatever freak gets in the White House and sends them to die so he can keep his illusion of a "war" and scare people into voting for him.
That's how the military works, sadly. You have to do whatever you are told, no matter how you feel about it. And many of them are.
