By Jesse Russell
Workers at an Eramet plant in Marietta Ohio have been locked out after rejecting a contract this weekend. Represented by the United Steelworkers union, the 290 workers offered to continue working under the expired contract, but when they showed up for work at 11 p.m. Saturday night they were sent home. The workers disagree with many proposals from Eramet including plans to freeze employee pensions, raise medical expenses by more than 80 percent and put a cap on insurance for retired employees. According to the union the company has had record profits over the last year.
