This is a pitch for the California Vets. Read it or not. |
|
They know just how screwed they got from this congress and they are trying to raise money to protect our vets from these cuts. And they ARE mad. If you have any doubts, call them.
Its California AMVET Voice. The phone number is 1-800-330-0321 Their address is PMB 301 5431 Auburn Blvd. Sacramento, CA 95841-2801
Ever been to a VA hospital? Its bad now and about to get alot worse. I have no doubt at all the vets are with us here, they just are - and no amount of PR from this GOP is going to change that.

2. That is a great link. I copied this. |

HOW DID YOUR CONGRESSPERSON VOTE ON VETERANS' ISSUES?
RATED FROM "0" TO "100" -- FROM BAD TO GOOD -- AND, YES,
REP. STEVE BUYER, HOUSE VETS' CHAIR, GOT A ZERO!
I didn't see a single republican get a passing vote. The Democrats seem to average about 92 out of 100. They have a great cartoon there - I think pretty funny.
That is a good link,

3. I hate to be a naysayer here |
|
but aren't these the same vets who vote for Bush in 2000 and 2004 and backed the war? And NOW they're pissed because it affects THEIR pocketbooks and health care? I will always admire and honor them for their service but I have to wonder where these guys were when we were protesting the war. Too many were spitting on ME and MINE and calling me "unpatriotic" and "Saddam lover," etc. I feel for them, I truly do, but maybe next time one of them wants to spit on me they can do some frickin' research first!

4. Don't ever be afraid to state your opinion. |
|
That is how we learn, different opinions.
But I sure wouldn't believe GOP propaganda either.
The people that backed the "Stupid War" sure weren't the ones that fought it in Iraq. They were at home. Who spit on you?? They weren't vets - not of that war anyway. I guess the fanatic "warriors" forgot to enlist, or they were crazy enough to "like war" - there aren't too mmany of those.
The best "true pacifists" are combat vets - cause they really know what it means to go to war. The rest of us imagine it. Most of my family are combat vets - my kid is in Iraq now. I'll tell you two things I know for sure - Troy's platoon voted for Kerry - in the middle of the fight up north - And my family that fought were alot more pro Kerry then even I was. Actually, I don't know a vet (from WWII to Iraq) that voted with this bastard, really.
But B*sh's propaganda seems effective, until you look at it closely.
Look, there are some fanatics, vets even, that like war - there are. But it is definately my experience that they are few and far between.
I got spit on once. I was a little kid and one of my brothers came home from the war (Viet Nam). It was in an airport and he was walking towards us in his uniform. I was young then, I'm older now - I learned - there are morons out there, alright. But thats all it means - some people are morons.
