Clinton interview will prove "trickle down" does work! |
|
Edited on Sun Sep-24-06 07:31 PM by cobaindrain
Think about it. The big dog is still viewed by the public and the media as the head of the democratic party. It's not Dean or Hillary, or Ted Kennedy or Edwards....it's Clinton. The Democrats have been beaten up for AGES regarding national security, and have yet to mount an effective response.
Clinton is never unprepared, Clinton is NEVER unhinged...everything that comes out of his mouth is calculated far in advance. About a month before the election, Clinton launches a loud, angry, forceful defense of his efforts to hunt and kill bin ladin. When people see you looking and acting tough, they believe you are tough...people are going to see that Dems are tough on national security. Clintons response will have a trickle down affect on all other democratic candidates. What we need is more spirited rebuttles like Bills!

2. Clinton was not proving we are tough on national security. He was trying |

to save his legacy: two very different things.
We have many candidates and leaders who are tough on national security. It is Clinton and the DLC who want to ignore the issue or do the same thing Bush does.

We have many leaders who have been speaking out. Yet suddenly he defends himself after all these many years, and all the others fade.
That's a shame.

14. Just because he's having his moment in the sun |
|
doesn't mean anyone else is fading away. It's a shame when we can't be more gracious in allowing all of our Democrats their moments to shine. It's a shame when we treat things as a zero sum game where celebrating one of our Democrats is treated as if it were robbing all of the others.
Bill Clinton was magnificent today, and it's shame that some people can only treat it with bitterness. Truly a shame.

7. If there's one thing I've learned about Clinton since 2000 |
|
It's that he is not a narcissist. I don't think he give a crap about his legacy (which is already well established IMO). He's doing what he's doing now because he cares deeply about human kind and the sorry state of the world.

That is the defining issue for our times.

He pointed out that Bush thought getting Osama was 1/7th as important as Iraq. I thought that was an excellent comment about the stupidity of Iraq.

9. It is Clinton's legacy that PROVES Dems are tough on national security |
|
It was President Clinton who helped protect us and thwart the bombing of LAX Airport during New Year's Eve 1999. During the millenium threat, his Administration went to battle station, and he required certain people to come to mandatory meetings daily at the White House, so they could shake the trees in the various departments and exchange information regarding the millenium threat.
It was President Clinton who authorized going after Osama bin Laden when they had intelligence he was going to be at a certain location, and unfortunately they missed him by a few hours.
It was President Clinton giving speeches on terrorism, trying to educate the American people about it, and media outlets like CNN didn't bother to cover it.

15. So, is it going to be like this part of the interview. A few days ago, |
|
DU was excited by Clinton being "tired of Clinton's BS".
Here is what he has to say today:
CLINTON: But I do like the — but I also say I’m not tired of Karl Rove. I don’t blame Karl Rove. If you’ve got a deal that works, you just keep on doing it.
So can we expect that a few days ago, he tells us he was not angry.

that don't like Clinton. Could it be be that you are too young to remember past presidents? I've watched Kennedy, Johnson, Reagan, Carter, Bush, Nixon, Ford, and believe me, Clinton is the best since Kennedy. The first time I voted I stood in line with the measles to vote for Kennedy, he said all the things that I wanted to hear. Civil rights mainly, minimum wage. I'm white but I never thought it was right that blacks went to a different school, were not allowed in some theaters and restaurants and that was in Indiana. In the south it was worse. Went to DC with parents and was told I couldn't sit in the back of bus because blacks or 'coloreds' at that time had to sit there. Didn't care for Johnson, seemed like the guys in Vietnam were fighting with one hand behind their backs. Just didn't seem like the war was being fought to win. No fault of the soldiers. Nixon was awful, I liked Ford ok, but most didn't like him because he pardoned Nixon. I thought Carter seemed like a nice man but not a good president. I thought GHWB was bad but that was before Junior Bush came along. Now I really know what bad is. That is why I like Clinton so much. And, I'd rather have a president that ****** a woman than the whole country.

DINO at best, and a RW fascist nut at worst, which pretty much means that every president since George Washington is a no-nuthin' Exxon-luvin' poor-people-hatin' sunza b*hes
I particularly liked the post a few days ago about Charlie Rangel being a " * A$$kisser". I think Kucinich actually shook the hand of a republican congressman the other day, so I'm waiting for the post that declares Kucinich to be just right of mussolini anyday now... :-) :sarcasm:

to vote for Kennedy or Johnson, however.... you just gave me a GREAT bumper sticker! Don't think I would have voted for Johnson though.
I'd rather have a President who ******* a woman than the whole country!
Now, I'll have to see how long I can keep it on my car! I think here in Florida we aren't allowed to use 4 letter words with bumper stickers. But it could be ARGUED!! No 4-letter word appears!

What an idiot! The moron blamed Carter for everything that went wrong, almost to the end of his 8 years in office. It defies logic, the way repukes today think he walked on water. http://www.americanpolitics.com/20020319Hersh.htmlhttp://www.quickchange.com/reagan/index.htmlhttp://www.geocities.com/thereaganyears/
