DUer help needed, antiBlackwell PAC needs to set up online donations ASAP! |
|
We have the go ahead to solicit funds online for a certain antiBlackwell PAC that is just formed. Though I am web design and Flash savvy I am not online secure donations for free or next to no $$ savvy.
Would Pay Pal be the way to go as a Click Through or would the PAC need to set up a merchant's account with PayPal?
We hope to get this handled before the weekend is over, so brainstorming and any and all experiences with other DUer fundraising projects appreciated.

foster confidence that the request for donations is legit when you are doing it on the cheap and a click through to donate goes to a 3rd party site. With EBay you have confidence, but with a newly formed PAC that people would encounter while visisting HuffPo, DU or Daily KOS what should the site say to prove it is legit?
I'm not privvy to the PAC part as of yet so I am trying to anticipate. This is very disorganized and very grassroots effort by people who are not net savvy.
I am checking now to see if the PAC is 501c3 tax exempt.

3. Maybe get somebody like KOS or HuffPo to do a story on the PAC. |
|
That'd lend it some credibility...

4. Good idea, I don't understand tax law, it looks like Google Checkout |

requires 501c3 status for nontangible goods type donations. Thinking of all the political type organizations, has anyone seen a PayPal or Google Check Out solution being used?
