The old saying - those who don't read history are doomed to repeat it. But this "deja vu all over again" is getting frighteningly worrisome-- Lex Gabinia Lex Manilia Enabling Act
Have we irreversibly started dismantling the experiment of the American Republic?

Senate traditional patrician latifundia. They were sort of proto-Jeffersonian small holder virtue-riddled populists. Their mother was Cornelia. Their idea spread out thru the late Republic, and C. Julius Caesar was their intellectual heir, in theory.
