Richard Viguerie feels betrayed
One of those super conservatives, was interviewed on CNN.

Why? They got their two supreme court justices who would do their work. They got Bush and the rest of the Republican leadership dancing to their tune, why is he disappointed?

But, hey, that's OK. Keep your soldiers home come November. This will make it that much easier to take both houses. And while there, do the same in 2008... hoping that we had some really good candidates.

2. Fundraising will be better if they lose control of Congress.
Richard's direct mailing empire is probably sucking bogwater about now.

3. Hm, that's a bummer. Better stay home this November.
That'll teach 'em a lesson.

scorched earth partisan politics which he and the other right wing Republicans have been practicing since at least 1980. If Hastert had felt the need to consult with someone other than just the Republican leadership, i.e. moderate Republicans and Democrats, this probably could have been avoided. But his first concern was protecting the Republican majority at the expense of everything else, a concern which Viguerie no doubt shares, based on what he has been willing to do to get it and keep it. So I think Viguerie should probably just shut up at this point. He is part of the problem.

He tried to suggest that Bush's angy base of social-religious conservatives may sit out mid-terms in large numbers. Which is absolutely absurd. We know they won't.
