SOme of you good people crack me up. "A TRAP?!?!" |
|
I've been away from the daily ebb and flow of news cycles for awhile because A)I couldn't stand that kind of mind numbing existence and B)I've been very busy with work.
From what I can see....some of the regular old "ESTABLISHMENT" has decided they've just about had enough of the Bush group and their excesses.
Just as the owning classes decided Clinton could not stand so they invested millions to harrass and harrie him every step of the way as he worked for true government reforms helping the regular guy and leading to better overall governance and prosperity,
I believe the same establishment got their multiple tax cuts and strategic shift toward new imperialism with troops camped on top of petroleum reserves in Iraq and gift legislation helping the CENTRAL govm't keep a better eye on it's citizens and legislation to tip scales back in favor of corporations over justice (tort reform, bankruptcy bill, etc) it is now time for Bush and his merry band of whack jobs to be reigned in or even sacrificed if necessary.
Now is the time for a decisive Dem victory to pull back the ridiculous "religion agenda" that many of the establishment GOP cannot abide....so the editors don't sit on stories in this crucial phase. They trumpet them far and wide. It is as though the Dems aren't even trying very hard but others are lobbing secret clues over the wall saying "Shut up...don't make fools of yourselves. We will HAND you the majority to get the equilibrium back and set the new center where we want it.
It's tired old realpolitik cynical establishment elections. The bright periods of Kennedy and Clinton have been snuffed out. One by assassination with a gun...the other via character assassination via special council.
Sickening....but true.

1. You make the common mistake of lumping all your enemies together. |
|
"The establishment" and "The owning classes", whatever you mean by those, are not institutions, they're collections of individuals, each with their own views and motivations; many of them almost certainly agree with most things you believe in; all of them certainly disagree with one another about many things. They're not come homogenous group conspiring to subvert democracy for their own monolithic interest.
