...anyone else see this? I also read on DU that Hastert cancelled all of his political rallies around the state.

Are BOTH of these things true? Anyone know the skinny?

3. he didn't cancel his instate trips, but his out of state trips
helping other campaigns out. They don't want him near any mic or podium for the next 4 weeks

I am not surprised that bush will help Denny. Denny's seat is extremely safe.

6. Why would Bush...

...help Denny if his seat is safe?? It sounded to me like Hastert was going to cancel his in-state trips, but ....?

I'm going to try to find some links to stories...I'm confused.

8. It is complicated, but, There are GOPs who on't want Bush either.
So, by going to Hastert's aid, he appears to be loyal to his friends (yeah, right) and he also gets a nice forum for yet another stultifying speachitory spastic smirking performance.

10. Hastert (R-IL) has canceled all of his fundraisers for the next two weeks
On the October 5 edition of MSNBC News Live -- as originally flagged by the weblog Think Progress -- NBC News correspondent Chip Reid reported that House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert (R-IL) has canceled all of his fundraisers for the next two weeks, following allegations that he and the House Republican leadership ignored -- or even covered up -- reports of emails allegedly sent by Rep. Mark Foley (R-FL) to underage male former congressional pages. According to Reid, Hastert had been "bragging" that he was going to appear at fundraisers for more than 30 different Republican candidates in the course of one month.

Word of Hastert's cancellations was preceded by reports that Rep. Ron Lewis (R-KY) canceled an event at which Hastert was scheduled to appear.
