Let's Go To A Freeper Church Tomorrow |
|
Given the Foley story this past week, it might be interesting to go to see what one of those conservative, politically active churches say on Sunday.
There's one near me that I'm planning on attending. Is there one near you?

3. Great idea! I'm game. Let's come back tomorrow and report what we find |
|
I like this idea. Remember folks, dress neatly speak respectfully, and ask unloaded open ended questions. Don't mention Jesus ("love thy enemy") Christ until they mention torture. Don't quote Isaiah ("Come let us reason together") until they insult you.

5. No thank you! I'll be at my progressive church tomorrow. |
|
Not going to waste on minute on that bunch, as much as I'd love to hear some of them whine. They'll probably just steer clear of the political rhetoric for a while anyway; they can't very well defend the GOP without appearing to condone Foley's actions, they can't condemn Foley too hard without appearing to talk trash about all of the GOP, and they sure as hell aren't going to start singing the virtures of Democrats. Besides, I wouldn't want to risk my sanity or my privacy; these nuts are notorious for calling on visitors and begging you to come back. I'm just fine without them knowing I even exist.
But if anyone is brave enough, I'll sure keep a watch for any posts reporting on your adventures tomorrow!

11. I would have no problem finding a freeper church. |
|
I live in Cherokee County, a very red zone in the Atlanta area. But since I am an atheist, I don't attend church. Even if I did, I would not set foot in one of their churches.

12. Ewwww! Church? Freepers? |
|
:puke:
Two of my least favorite things on the planet! I don't have the stomach. I want to hurl whenever I'm forced to set foot in any church, let alone a Freepfest one. There's something about the musty smell, the ridiculous "artwork," and the sense of denial of reality that makes every nerve in my body buzz with revulsion when I'm in a "Holy" house.

Jesus will be mentioned many, many times, but will not be quoted - not even once.
Been there, won the bet.

|
- but I normally attend every Sunday. I'm sure some of my fellow church-members are freepers but we don't discuss politics in church.

Isn't something I'm interested in.
Having read the New Testiment and some of the Apocrypha for myself, I wouldn't go anywhere near one of those places.
For me, anyway- my soul is worth more than my curiousity, anthropology notwithstanding.

|
hold a gay love-in.
hold an anti-torture rally.
hold a separation of church state teach in.
but protest in front -- let them KNOW that the war they are shoving in your face is coming to their temples of hate.
