Downside to the Foley Scandal
Don't get me wrong, I think it is a great thing. And if it
helps to get us House and Senate majorities, I'm good
with that, too. Whatever it takes.

But after the election, what reason will Bush's handlers
and the compliant media give for the GOP defeat? Won't
be Iraq, won't be deficits, won't be Social Security, won't
be any of the myriad failures laid on this country by the
most incompetent president in our 300 year history.

It will be Mark Foley.

Bush gets off the hook again.

Ah well, there's always impeachment.

3. Hey, they got Al Capone on tax evasion.
But they did get the criminal thug. Let's hope these criminal thugs go down, one way or another.

4. Setting aside impeachment for a moment...it's about time we stopped
Edited on Sun Oct-08-06 12:57 PM by mcscajun
focusing on Bush and only Bush, because one way or another, he's gone in January 2009. Either we get the House and Senate and impeach him (which I believe unlikely), or we get the House and Senate and we don't, but we MUST get control of Congress. We have to take control of the House and Senate, and if we get those, we've won. It's the House and Senate we need to reverse the damage done by this miserable excuse for a President. It's the enablers, the co-conspirators that need to be swept away; if we don't do that, hanging Bush out to dry won't matter much. Yes, the fish stinks from the head down, but the entire fish IS rotten.

So no, I don't believe there's a downside to the Foley scandal; anything, ANYthing that takes apart this Republican-led, do-nothing Congress and gets the Democrats back at the reins of power is a good thing. Get back Congress, then on to 2008 and the White House!

5. So then we KEEP connecting it to the Rape-Publican Culture of Corruption.
Foley's just a symptom of an immoral, conniving, self-serving, criminal party of crooked profiteers and power-grabbers.

that the fundies will be foaming at the mouth that "gays" thwarted their Republican Revolution...

Because the right wouldn't know Personal Responsibility if it was inserted up their... well, you get the idea.

7. There are some you'll never convince. But they're not our objective.
It's the swing voters who have been taken in by these con-men whom we need convince.

9. "Rep. John Murtha was just the typical cheat who smeared his reputation...
...with his lust for money."

:wtf:

Are they confusing Murtha with Duke Cunningham?
