As you watch Olbermann, remember: Evangelicals BUY BOOKS.
In one of the upcoming segments he'd going to talk about this book, which...as he just described it...discusses how the Bush White House "privately ridiculed Evangelicals behind the scenes. even as they courted them for their votes"...

Evangelicals buy books. ESPECIALLY books that discuss Evangelicals.

2. They will not believe what the books says - so there will be no harm done.
In fact just the opposite - they will rush to defend Bush against the liberal press.

If whoever wrote this book thought it would hurt Bush with neo-cons, they are in for a big surprise.

10. Try not to speak in such absolutes. They are usually proven wrong. (nt)

12. It has the word "seduction" on the cover.
They'll think it's dirty.

3. It's coming up next...
I'm so thankful to DU for turning me onto Olberman. I first started watching it after someone posted his 911 speech....I was stunned at how courageous he was. He seems to be the only journalist with a spine anymore.

5. Hi, AnnArbor
Welcome to DU!

Keith becomes a habit very quickly. I found him (well, my hubby turned me on to him) the summer of 2004 leading up to the election.

8. Hey back at ya SharonRB
Greetings from Ypsi Twp!
I'm watching the show as I type. I'm clearly not a fan of the Fundies, but it's yet another example of what a bunch of hypocrites Bush and Co. are.

4. Sorry, but I still don't see many of them changing....
their political affiliation. And the dems shouldn't be triangulating to get them either. It still amounts to standing up for what you believe in. Fact is, they still believe that church and state are one in the same.

6. I think we should all buy this book
Nothing like a rank on the NYT Bestseller list to get their attention!

9. ...Or at the very least
write a review for Amazon.com.

I've read it, have you? I am shocked, shocked I tell you at how I was duped into thinking
that our beloved president pretended to care about us Christians and our pet causes. And
to think, my husband and I went without our much needed prescription medications for six
months in order that we could contribute to the Republican Party. I feel betrayed.

Well, I guess we should wait until the book comes out, shouldn't I?

7. David Kuo is one of them - he was in the Bush Admin
He writes on beliefnet.com

Google his name. I hope that they will listen to him and wake up on how the Repukes are just using and abusing them. Course they've used and abused the Republican party in return.

11. It doesn't surprise me
The Republicans frequently give lip service to "the troops" but think nought of cutting back service personnel's pay and benefits.

The main thing they respect is wealth. They think wealthy people and corporations are the greatest thing and so they should pay as least tax as possible and face the least scrutiny. All this for the price of bankrolling a few campaigns and pensions of GOP candidates, and awarding Sen. John Q Nasty-bastard (R) a place on your company board.
