McCain says it this is not the time for finger pointing
Yesterday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) explicitly blamed the Clinton administration for North Korea’s nuclear weapons test on Sunday: “t is a failure of the Clinton administration policies…that have caused us to be in the situation we’re in today.”

This morning on NBC, “Straight Talk” McCain had a different tune: “I think this is the wrong time for us to be engaging in finger pointing when in this crucial time, we need the world and Americans united.”

Watch the clips back to back:

McCain, 10/11/06, NBC Today

I think this is the wrong time for us to be engaging in finger pointing when in this crucial time, we need the world and Americans united in going to the United Nations to bring about sanctions against North Korea.

McCain, 10/10/06, press conference:

We had a carrots and no sticks policy that only encouraged bad behavior. When one carrot didn’t work, we offered another. Now we’re facing the consequences of the failed Clinton administration policies.

McCain, 10/10/06, Hannity & Colmes:

The fact is that it is a failure of the Clinton administration policies that I was heavily involved in at the time that have caused us to be in the situation we’re in today.

2. BS!
Why has every thread I've read over the past week or so that has McCain in the title shown him finger-pointing at someone - last time Clinton.

3. He means pointing the finger of blame at the Republicans.
It's always the perfect time to blame the Democrats.

12. In other words...
He's already pointed the finger and it failed because Sen Clinton and others immediately presented the facts of how scrubbie screwed this whole thing up.
"So...please stop pointing the finger of blame at the real failure...the scrubbie." McCain is crying.

16. Who was that brilliant lady on t.v. the other day that just made fodder
of the people who criticized Albright and the Clinton policy? She was very good in pointing out that Clinton delayed Korea's nuclear development and that Bush's ABC policy wasn't replaced with anything better. I bet that's why McCain backtracked.
