Maybe I am not getting the whole picture here. I don't have an opinion really for 08, but I think you get a good picture by looking up their leadership PACs about who is viable.

Help me figure this.

Here is Bayh's All America PAC

Here is Warner's Forward Together PAC.

Warner's is far larger as of August. What am I missing.

1. Bayh has a lot more with his senate account.

I am not sure that money is the reason of his withdrawal, but Bayh has more than % 10M dollars.

2. Maybe there's more to it than the "angle" the pundits have provided....
Maybe there is more to it than just Warner vs. Bayh. But beyond pure speculation (which is most likely a waste of time), we'll never know unless we are told.

Hey, I've volunteer to drive folks to the polls round my area. That's what I'll be doing November 7th. Bout you? :hi:

9. I did not know of any other reason when I posted.
I have requested it be locked because I hate gossip like that. I would never have posted it.

Election day we will be poll watchers. Is that all you want to know.

bimbo eruptions on the Huffington Post.

That link and headline isn't up on Huffington post anymore.

I'll look again but I didn't see it.

I found it on Wonkette - a link to Radar http://radaronline.com/exclusives/2006/10/mark-warners-clinto-problem.php

4. I do not believe that stuff.

I think there may have been other pressures, maybe not all financial..not sure. But I just don't believe that.

They are dragging out all the stops now...I will refuse to believe it.

In fact, I would not have posted this if I had known about the Wonkette thing. I was figuring it from a finnancial angle, and looking at the PACs is one way.

Do you believe that?

6. I have no idea. I was shocked today when he announced he wouldn't
run.

I figured there was a reason and I don't think it was financial.

I saw it on the Huffington Post, not Wonkette. Huff Post must have pulled it.

7. When the news broke, my first reaction was "Someone has something on him"
I speculated on this this morning in another thread. It just smells like a surfacing skeleton. It's a damn shame that (1) the men driven to fix this country can't keep their peckers in their pockets and (2) we give a damn about personal indiscretions like this when they don't relate to actual job performance.

I was only thinking financially, as his financial position looked good. I hope the gossip is wrong, it just gets overwhelmning.

I don't like posting about personal stuff, and did not know about it.

10. IBTL: Like it or not, it's part of the vetting process now.
Part of the function of primary races is to see how well candidates react and handle adversity. Another part is to test them for vulnerabilities that my come out during the Fall 08 campaign. It sucks. But our opponents won't flinch before using shit like this. We can't afford to play by irrelevant rules when we go thru our product-testing phase of the election.

13. You're a good person, MadFlo. Florida doesn't deserve you.
But she desperately needs your vote. And please don't ever stop saying how we ought to be as a country and as a party.

My theory is that he realized - in a way his boosters have not - that he's about as inspiring as a glass of lukewarm milk.
