I went to the United States Post Office today to Impeach *
Edited on Thu Oct-12-06 10:34 PM by texpatriot2004
Today, October 12, 2006 I went to mail my DIY impeachment paperwork. It was great. I mean I was really glad to actually do something to rid myself and others of this evil bastard. So, I bought some patriotic stamps to put on the envelopes and sent them off with a blessing; a blessing and some hope and pride.

Lady Liberty, Lincoln, Washington, and Jefferson crossed my mind as I got ready to send the papers. And might I say that I am so grateful to Thomas Jefferson (I have always admired him).

As I wrote out the envelopes, I couldn't bear to write "Honorable" and Sensenbrenner in the same line but writing out "The Honorable John Conyers, Jr." felt very right.

I wondered what would become of these precious papers of mine. I wondered how many other Americans gathered these same documents, prepared them, and sent them off today. I wondered how may Americans it takes to impeach a dictator, or a dictator wannabe.

October 12, 2006 - a very good day to impeach.

1. I mailed my letters today too!
Walked thru 31 degree weather and snow to get my letters out and it was surely worth it.

21. It's working fine for me. But just in case, from the page...
Impeach for Peace, a Minnesota-based impeachment group, has researched a method for impeaching the president using a little known and rarely used part of the Rules of the House of Representatives ("Jefferson’s Manual"). This document actually empowers individual citizens to initiate the impeachment process themselves.

5. We got a freakishly early blast of winter here in the Great Lakes region..
It was snowing and 38 degrees in the northern Detroit suburbs today. The Oakland A's are going to be in for quite a shock when they get here (as if they're not already having enough troubles :))

8. I thought of a man who lives only about a block away from...
...the mailbox where I dropped my letters. Mayor Tom Barrett, a great Milwaukeean, a great American, and a great Democrat who sat proudly with Congressman Conyers on the House Judiciary Committee and fought back the Attempted Republican Coup of 1998.

To Tom Barrett, John Conyers, Maxine Waters, and the rest who defended our Constitution that year, I dedicate MY IMPEACHMENT.

Never Give Up.

25. Sweet. I'm going to look into this. I wonder if you can get a bunch of
people to sign the same letters. Then you can collect signatures at a rally/protest. There's going to be a Peace March here in Los Angeles on Oct. 29, led by Gandhi's grandson. I'm sure a lot of people there would be interested. My friend and I were talking about either getting people to sign one letter or making a bunch of copies of a letter with instructions on what to do and handing them out.
