2. Does General Clark believe the 2004 election was stolen or |
|
does he share your belief that Kerry intentionally threw the election?

Huh? Is this a multiple choice test? Are there only two options? Do you ask this question about everone who is considering running for President?

6. Why don't you ask Bart yourself? |
|
I know Bart likes Hillary Clinton. I don't know why. I think it's a mistake, but heck, some people think Kerry deserves a second chance (I don't).
He HAS said that he will support whoever the Democratic Party nominates. Which, frankly, is more than a lot of very partisan people here are willing to say.
Any more than that, you'll have to ask Bart himself.

7. You misunderstand if you think he supports Hillary. |
|
He just doesn't think it's smart for Democrats to perpetuate a jihad against her since she may very well end up being the Dem nominee. I agree. I want Al Gore to run and win and can think of a couple others I'd rather see, but I certainly agree with Bartcop's logic.

12. Ah, thanks for clarifying |
|
I also would list Prez Gore as my top choice, with General Clark a close second.
I admire Prez Gore for the fact that he fought hard in 2000 during the disputed election. He didn't roll over and play dead. He stayed with it all the way to the supreme court. It seemed he truly wanted the presidency he had earned, and had backbone and principles.

13. Basically, Kerry caved in to Bush and the Republicans. |
|
He didn't fight for a recount in Ohio. He threw in the towel without anything more than a verbal protest and sent Edwards out to do what little fighting was done for him. And before that, he refused to give the Swift Boat Liars the anger and contempt they deserved. He may have been brave in Vietnam, but he withered under the wimpy fire of Bush.
Now I'm starting to hear claims that it was his staff, or James Carville, or maybe susnspots, that were responsible for his passive and lame campaign and its aftemath. It doesn't matter. Responsibility rolls uphill, and it was ultimately his campaign. Even if he didn't choose the losing path, he accepted the judgment of the people who sent him down the losing path.
It's not that I can't forgive. I just can't forgive Kerry. I'm ready to forgive Al Gore for his failure; he's proven to have a genuine passion and committment to something besides a political career, which means he should revive his political career. But Kerry will have to do a lot more penance and apologizing before he should even be allowed into the convention hall.
