Poll question: Here's a different kind of 2008 poll ....... |
|
The premise here is altruism .... who has it and who doesn't.
If, in the course of the primary season, it appears that one of these people would serve the party better as the veep and not the top of the ticket, who would most likely do it simply because it is best for the larger party and not for the person?

6. Edwards was in the race until Kerry got the needed numbers of delegates. |

That also is as it should be. All these men are running for President. If they have a shot at getting it, none of them would say "I'll be VP for X instaed". I do recall some comment in 2004, likely only speculation that Dean spoke to Clark about the idea of running as Dean/Clark. (I never heard either man say it and it didn't happen.)
In 2004, it wasn't altruism. Kerry had won the nomination in March and asked Edwards to be VP in June or July.

5. Due to the West Point Motto of "Country, Honor and Duty"..... |
|
Wes Clark would be the first to put down any presidential inspiration and be the Veep candidate if he was asked and he thought that this would be the only way we could win.
Hell, he ran to begin with because he saw that Bush as a wartime President was going to be hard for the Dems to beat.....considering our media. Guess he was right then....too.
