Re: Oct. 19 column by George Will, "Democrats, media take a dim view of bright economic picture":
I can't stand it when people such as Will and Republicans paint a grand picture of the economy like Will did in his column. Sure, his numbers might be dead on, but what about the rest of the story?
What about more people being uninsured? Or how about the fact that home foreclosures have risen since President Bush office? Will also forgot to tell us how 50 percent of the so-called tax breaks went to the top 5 percent of earners. My taxes have not budged, and I'm in the top 15 percent.
My grandfather taught me one important life lesson: Make sure you can take care of yourself. How can I when we import a lot of our energy, we import a lot of our food, and many of our manufacturing jobs have moved overseas so the Waltons can make billions? Will is a fool.
