DFA in Miami had a tribute at Bayfront Park.
DFA: Arlington Miami..a Tombstone Tribute to the Iraq dead...rows and rows....""The incredibly thought-provoking and emotional display, "Arlington Miami", that DFA Miami put on at Bayfront Park last weekend continues to reverberate with all those who had the opportunity to witness it and has moved beyond. Although several local television stations have expressed regret that they didn't cover this event, the Miami Herald did not miss the chance."
""One of the local Spanish language TV stations has asked the organizers to appear on a widely watched morning show to talk about Arlington Miami. The fact that a half hour has been slated to discuss this event attests to the fact that the Iraq war and its consequences is a topic for serious discussion and soul-searching.
The organizers also plan to hold another memorial next month on Miami Beach and a national group, "Military Families Speak Out", has asked permission to have the exhibition travel to Mount Dora, Florida. Another documentary film crew has expressed interest in filming these upcoming events."
Here is a clip from that documentary in both languages and with subtitles. I did shed some tears. I think those crosses in the middle of downtown moved many.
