Just how are the the Democrats supposed to make the country less safe? |
|
The fear factor is on full throttle now. Santorum is comparing the possible turnover of the Senate to 1930's Germany. Osama's back in a mushroom cloud. Hey, Bush is still president and confounder in chief for the next two years, Rumsfeld still runs the pentagon. It's still their show. Just what do they expect will happen if the legislative branch is democratically controlled? Maybe some actual debate before Bush tries to whittle away the Constitition? Some restoration of checks and balances? Some oversight on runaway spending? Oooh I'm frightened. Maybe the Democrats will take away all our guns so we won't be able to fight the terrorist hoards decending upon Springield from their secret mountain hidaway cells. Jeez, most of terrorist fighting is done by our intelligence community anyway, just what are the liberals supposed to do? Open the borders, welcome them all in and give them free healthcare and food stamps? Hmmm, maybe if we love them they will love us back and stop hating us.

May all Republicans discover a profound interest in federal prison reform.

2. Democrats will have sinful diplomatic relations. |

They will negotiate. They will talk.
Republicans will go insane from the horror.

4. The Bush administration has made America less safe by making it |
|
less American.
The party of Lincoln has attempted to disconnect itself from the values that motivated Lincoln himself, and it's the opportunity, the privilege, and the responsibility of the Democratic Party to now reconnect current times with the generations that produced them.
A nation connected to its founders' highest ideals is a safer nation than the one Bush has led us to be.
