We need to be careful about posts concerning vote fraud.
To the extent they may dissuade people from voting because they think their vote won't count they are VERY dangerous.

WE HAVE TO VOTE!!

And I will point out about the 2004 election - AND I DO BELIEVE there was something seriously wrong with it - that given the tools, it could have been dealt with.

That data is withheld to this day.

Maybe they will again try and cheat - but for them to do so will it will require them to attempt to manipulate hundreds of seperate elecions in many different areas of the country. This time it is not so simple to cheat.

And frankly, the odds of getting caught are hundreds of times greater. And we all will be watching every step.

I don't know a numbers person that didn't have a problem with the 2004 election. But I do know, everyone of them will be watching this one. Personally, I don't trust the DNC to count out change. I do trust the collective judgement of the american people - and particularly - I believe that you can fool us once, but look out for the second time you try it.

Americans are pretty smart - and people that bet against that eventually lose.

3. "Vote Fraud" is what the repukes are going to scream
in every close election they loose. They have already planned on it. They are going to challenge the validity of the **voters.**

ELECTION FRAUD is THE problem. Frankly, I think they rigged elections in many, many places in 2004. They are sure to do it again. The repukes may bite the bullet and loose the House by a few seats, but they'll pull out all the stops to keep the Senate.

I always vote. Knowing about the fraud the repukes commit only makes me more determined to show up at the polls.

5. Good for you - we all need to vote.
The day the republicans try and challenge this election - that will be the day.

After we win, I really hope they do. Let them open Pandora's box.

For myself, my kid, for everyone - I want to know what really happened in 2004. Cause I know when we really do know - we can make sure it never happens again.

But they won't - they know whats inside that box.

Joe

4. My 27 yr old son, who always votes,
told me the other night he wasn't going to vote because it probably wouldn't be counted. He was very serious.

6. I have heard this, too. From some of my kids friends.
This could turn into a problem.

So dumb. It really shouldn't -

My kid stateside wouldn't dare not vote. Not if he wants dinner that night.

I do not have a great feeling for many of the younger voters though.

Good Post!!

7. From Mark Crispin Miller
"If the GOP should lose the House or Senate, its troops will mount a noisy propaganda drive accusing their opponents of election fraud. This is no mere speculation, according to a well-placed party operative who lately told talk radio host Thom Hartmann, off the record, that the game will be to shriek indignantly that those dark-hearted Democrats have fixed the race. We will hear endlessly of Democratic "voter fraud" through phantom ballots, rigged machines, intimidation tactics, and all the other tricks whereby the Bush regime has come to power. The regime will, in short, deploy the ultimate Swift Boat maneuver to turn around as many races as they need so as to nullify the will of the electorate."

Miller has done incredible work on voting issues. http://www.markcrispinmiller.blogspot.com/

8. And if they do, you think we are gonna lie down??
How does the party out of power "fix" an election, exactly??

I have heard similar things, I suppose.

It just doesn't hold too much water. Any attempt to do so brings some very nasty things into play that I cannot belive would ever be allowed to see the light of day.

About the "Swiftboaters" - they succeeded because they were allowed to. Not again.

Once the congress is sworn it - it is over. We ARE a republic first.

People that don't recognize that fact will be the first to truly understand just what "Karma" really means - I am sure.

11. Maybe they'll just take it to the Supreme Court?????
After all, the Supreme Court believes in the Unitary Executive (except if it's a Democrat).

9. Yep, I've been posting the same thing for a couple of weeks
I bet Roger Stone is getting his speed dial up to day to stage his riots in a few key 'problem' places.

Good thing this time we know better.

10. I hear a lot about the generic ballot (demvrs rep) not meaning
too much.

That is horse crap. Of course it does.

Do you really believe any gop candidate has a chance in hell of appealing any election where the dem generic is 10 or more points?? How about if any such appeal had an effect on the overall balance of power?? How about if in doing so it would open old wounds that could threaten the white house??

We do need to lay off of the vote stealing theme right now.

People need to vote.

Joe
