Will someone PLEASE tell Holy Joe that HE LOST!

NY Times: Lieberman's 'secret weapon' is NYC mayor Bloomberg

RAW STORY
Published: Friday October 27, 2006

New York City mayor Mike Bloomberg has been coming to the aid of "exiled" Democratic U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman, the New York Times will report on the front page of its Saturday edition.

"In his battle for re-election to the U.S. Senate without the backing of the Democratic Party," writes Diane Cardwell, "Joseph I. Lieberman is deploying a secret weapon in the race's closing days: a sophisticated operation to identify and turn out voters, courtesy of Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg." The mayor is a former Democrat who switched to the GOP before he first ran for mayor of New York in 2001.

Lieberman lost the Democratic primary to upstart challenger and progressive darling Ned Lamont, but leads him as an independent in recent polls for the general election on November 7. The Connecticut senator has gained remarkable support from Republicans, to the point that GOP candidate Alan Schlesinger has been polling in single digits.

"The Bloomberg group includes several operatives who played key roles in the mayor's decisive re-election last year," the article states. "Since Lieberman lost the Democratic primary ... they have helped open campaign offices, designed a strategy to reach voters and are corralling enough volunteers to cover 2,800 shifts at more than 700 polling sites on Election Day."

Cardwell writes that "the efforts of the Bloomberg team could prove critical" in this closely-watched race with national implications.
<snip>

Why isn't Mayor Bloomberg putting all of his energy and manpower into making certain that the remains of loved ones are found instead of running a mini, corporate-staffed army for HIS OWN re-election? WTF is the matter with these people?

:grr:

1. What is Bloomberg getting out of this? Is there some quid pro quo?
what is it that Lieberman can deliver for NY that Bloomberg needs help on? Is this out of friendship?

3. "And I am telling Jew, I'm not going."

Sorry. I couldn't resist the obvious. You know they both feel entitled in a Giuliani way.

I know plenty of progressive Jews that do not support either Bloomberg or Lieberman. If only we had a real latin candidate in this race to really bring it home. We did at one time, but we don't. This is make pretend WASP land cloaking under Judeo-Christian values.

In other words, "Thanks for bringing your GOP convention to my city even though it was victimized and targeted from the outset. I know nothing but my allegiance to assholes."
