4. Yes, indeed! Cardin is the good guy. This is a seat we need to hold...
if we have any hope to take control in the Senate. Cardin has been in the lead but it's been steadily slipping away. He will debate his diabolical repuke opponent Michael Steel (...s money from the poor to give to the rich) tomorrow on Meet the Press.

6. Probably based on a poll last week...
That had them tied...in general Cardin has been ahead by anywhere from 4 to 10 points...

I say he squeaks this one out 51-49!

8. Election fraud/manipulation in 2004 was about 5%; is that taken into account?
If its similar this time to what happened in most states in 2004, the Dems would have to
have a huge lead in voters to overcome the manipultion and fraud that happens every election since 2000.
Lots of fraud and manipulation in most states in 2004. Any reason to think it will be different?

9. Even newer poll puts Cardin and O'Malley up by around 10 points (WaPo):
In tomorrow morning's Washington Post:

" Poll Puts Maryland Democrats In the Lead
Races Are Much Closer, GOP Candidates Say

By Robert Barnes and Matthew Mosk
Washington Post Staff Writers
Sunday, October 29, 2006; Page A01

A strong Democratic tide in Maryland threatens to swamp Republican Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr.'s reelection bid and bolsters the party's efforts to retain control of an important U.S. Senate seat, according to a new Washington Post poll.

Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley (D) held a 10 percentage point lead over Ehrlich, and Democratic Senate nominee Rep. Benjamin L. Cardin had a similar advantage over Republican Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele among likely voters in the Post poll, which was conducted last Sunday through Thursday. The leads were well beyond the survey's three percentage point margin of error."
