Help me send a message to ABC
I dont know how, but I was chosen to participate in a research group about why people dont watch ABC news anymore. I told the screener exactly why I don't and they were very interested, as if they had no clue. So, I have an opportunity to voice my (our) opinion about what might make us every want to watch abc news again. I am going to suggest that since they aired such an extremely partisan film with no commercials, besides firing bill maher and ted koppel, that they need to air an equally "liberal" film with no commercials.
any suggestions?
I'm thinking hacking democracy, which HBO is going to air on tuesday, but I don't know if that is possible.
So if anyone has any suggestions for ABC, I'd be glad to take them with me and pass them along.
no swear words please.

1. Since they ran "Path to 9/11", we do not watch ABC -- AT ALL -- for any reason in my home.
I have actually v-chipped it on all the tvs so it can't be watched "inadvertently", while channel-surfing, or whatever. Tell them that for me.... they are a tool of the Bush government, as far as I'm concerned, and my entire family -- all my kids, and their kids, back me up.

4. you might suggest...........
...that their news needs to include REAL news instead of catering to the current Republican administration.

There are plenty of REAL news stories out there! Like accurately informing people of what is really going on in Congress. If they need a model, advise them to check out Olbermann's show!! I'm not saying that they should copy Keith's show but that should give them an idea what real Americans are looking for.

Bush now has an approval in the 30s and the Republican Congress has a similar rating so it's reasonable to suggest that most Americans do NOT like 1 party govt nor Republican rule. Maybe that's why no one is watching anymore.........

5. tell abc I haven't watched in years, not since it became evifent
that they were nothing but a mouthpiece for the administration. And it is going to take a long period of them actually covering the news and being responsible journalists before I will ever tune in again (not only do I not watch abc news, I don't watch ANYTHING on abc, EVER. even if they were the ones to run "charlie brown's christmas", I STILL wouldn't watch.

8. After 24/7 coverage of the Bill Clinton witchhunt for all of his 8 years
as president, I became appalled at how all tv news coverage was giving this administration a free pass from all scrutiny, when it should have been strongly questioning (& investigating) it.

Like many others who were hungry for the facts, I turned to the internet for my news & I've been here ever since.

Tv news networks have a lot of work to do to win back my viewership. Keith Olbermann of MSNBC has been the only news program I've cared to watch faithfully because he's got integrity, he gets it, & he reports it.

10. I thought "Aw-shucks Charlie" Gibson was a terrible choice
for a news anchor, but that was before I saw the Katie Couric debacle over at CBS. Gibson looks almost Cronkitesque in comparison.

11. Don't watch not since the 9/11 hatchet job on the Clinton Admin
I even gave up the Harry Potter movie last night--and I am a big HP fan. I don't think they can do anything to get my viewership back. I don't normally give second chances to those who never tell the truth

12. Can't help you: I haven't watched ABC in years.
There hasn't been 5 minutes of TV on ABC I've wanted to watch in the last 5 years. Samey-same for CBS and NBC.

Now that I think about it, TV has been a bitter dreg since Mystery Science Theater 3000 was canceled; even worse since IFC canceled Samurai Saturday mornings. The new "Battlestar Galactica" and some cooking shows on Food Network are about it for me anymore.

The Pagan Preacher
I don't turn the other cheek.

13. I would make it calm and professional-sounding
"ABC's strong ties to the Republican party, as evidenced by the firing of Bill maher and Ted Koppel, the showing of the partisan and lie-filled 'Path to 9/11' without any rebuttal, and the refusal to investigate any of the myriad crimes of Goerge Bush and the Republican Congress, have rendered it completely useless as a source for the truth. If and when that situation is rectified, I will give ABC News another try."

14. They are perceived as "Fox Jr."
Since Jennings died they transformed from being an impartial news agency to over the top Bush administration propagandists. They have chosen partisanship over impartiality. They would rather perpetuate lies than report the truth. They have consciously squandered their credibility.
