My biggest concern about Kerry..... |
|
isn't the IWR vote, although that bothers me.
My biggest worry is that he will not focus on the problems with our voting systems. I would like to be reassured that he will really pursue this prior to the election.
Even if actual change does not occur in the systems, tampering might be too risky if a big issue is made of this.
Also, If Kerry is the nominee, I think that Kerry-Cleland would make Bush-Cheney look slightly deficient in the sacrifice department.

It was a disgrace what the republicans did to Cleland in Georgia, by implying he wasn't patriotic...

You'll be hearing about it soon.

he's been too busy, these past months campaigning,to sign on to the Senate Bill S1980, which would require a paper trail for electronic voting.

10. Sounds like crap to me |

Why did it come out of Congress without requiring a paper trail in the first place? This has been years in the making and if somehow you could regard it as an oversight, how was it not corrected? Is Kerry going to say he never saw the issue on television and did not know of the problem? Why does he not speak of it on the campaign trail? Most people get fired for being late a couple of times, much less missing months. If Kerry has such vision why does he not say this is year 2004 and Senators should have remote voting?
The whole thing is damning for Kerry. It should have never removed the paper trail that was there before the "upgrading." It should have been condemned every day from its passing until it was changed to require a paper trail and unfortunately that now includes today and certainly tomorrow. It is not even mentioned on his website that I can see. I could reject Kerry on this one issue alone.
Are we supposed to think Kerry is wonderful because he can spin, while going along with the status quo? People are going to backhand the Democratic Party for sending out the establishment's candidate when things need changing. Maybe then the Democratic Party will think about what needs changing besides the monogram on the towels in the White House.
If the Democrats lose to the worst pResident ever, it is because they are the worst party ever. Look for people to reject the Democratic Party as a lesson for the Kerry insult.

13. You totally misunderstood me |
|
I am furious that Kerry was too busy campaigning to be doing his job these past months. I was not excusing him, i was criticizing him. Sorry if I did not make that clear. It is crap and we are paying the price.
Kerry is on the very bottom of my list for many reasons.

If Kerry's $6 million buys him the nomination, I'm an Independent. The Democratic Party seems determined to keep running the same tired, phony, self-serving politicians.

12. Why would BushInc want Kerry to expose them on BCCI or IranContra? |
|
Edited on Sun Feb-08-04 12:32 PM by blm
Why is it that when the Congress was ready to let IranContra drop, Kerry pursued it further with Ralph Nader's help and also asked Robert Morgenthau in NY to prosecute with state laws?
Why would he sic Morgenthau on them if he was trying to cover up for them? Why was Poppy Bush forced to pardon them if Kerry had whitewashed for them?
Your claims don't hold up when compared to the actual sequence of events.
I trust Robert Parry's reporting on the events and he never came close to intimating what you throw out with ZERO proof.
If you are so certain of your claim, then contact Robert Parry and give him your scoop with the evidence so he can rewrite his book.

14. No need - I'm sure nothing will come of Kerry's BBV "investigation" |
|
Just like nothing came of his BCCI and Iran Contra "investigations". Nothing, nada, zip (Well, to be fair, he nailed a few low level people, while letting his brother Bush off scot-free. So I guess I can't say "nothing). Of course, you say it's not Kerry's fault - it's the *other* Democrats who wanted to stop him. I guess Kerry is just utterly ineffective. A miserable failure, if you will.

15. Kerry got an Independent Counsel appointed on IranContra, didn't he? |
|
Poppy Bush had to PARDON alot of the big names in IranContra before they went to trial, didn't he?
Kerry made sure that history would record the corruption of government in the Reagan and Bush administrations, even if shortsighted people today ignore it.
Name one other lawmaker alive today who has exposed as much.

>> he will not focus on the problems with our voting systems <<
IMO (gut feeling only), it's these very systems that have him in the place he now finds himself. I do not for a moment believe his remarkable meteoric rise reflects the actual voting tallies.
Dean's precipitous fall coinciding with the jaw-dropping number of bad press events FINALLY coming out against bush are all too beautifully orchestrated to be mere coincidence.
Call me skeptical. This election has already been decided.
Pisses me off.

He's right - Dean got trashed in the press right about the time that the facts that there really were no WMD came out.
ON Edit: Also, while Clark was trashing Bush on the war (and of course turned out to be correct) he was basically ignored by the corporate media.

With the questions being brought up about voting in WA and earlier on in NH, I dont think Id trust Kerry to 'pursue' this issue. It needs to be done by someone who could care less about Republicans Or Democrats!
BTW, watch what you say about Kerry on DU! you mite get the thread locked! lol!
