Politics right now is TOTALLY like Rocky IV! :)
Seriously, what we're seeing right now - is the winner take all knock-down drag out fight for the heart of America. And for the first time in a long, long time the Democrats are actually fighting back.

It's like the final fight in Rocky IV, when Rocky finally manages to cut Ivan Drago - then the music comes in, and the crowd goes wild, and the announcer is screaming, "he's cut! he's cut! And now its Balboa coming on strong!"

Then at one point after getting knocked down Rocky charges Drago and picks him clear off the ground and they both go spiraling down on to the mat where they're still fighting. The announcer goes, "forget tactics, forget technique! This is an all out street fight! It's a simple question of who wants it most!"

And Tony Burton in the corner coaching Rocky going "You see! You see! He's NOT a machine!! He's a man! You can hurt him!!" Might as well be saying that about Karl Rove.

This is it - the fight for all the marbles.

So please --- STOP CRYING ABOUT IT AND START FIGHTING. Kerry came back out swinging and kicked intense, huge republican ass today. And every day the GOP tries to keep this alive, he is going to come out and kick more ass. They are going to end up begging to be able to talk about ANYTHING BUT THIS, and we are going to continue to beat their sorry fucking asses with it. Because you know what? Once you wake the sleeping Giant, it turns out that we are better. at it. than they are.

So stop crying, and get your gloves on. It's go time in America. :)

2. No, you're wrong
Politics right now is just like, "Labyrinth!" America is Jennifer Connelly, and we're beset on all sides by muppets, and David Bowie is wearing pants so tight we can tell what religion he is... No, that's not right. Okay, politics right now is like, "The Matrix." Morpheous has just jumped from one building to the other, and we're all like, "Whoa," and when we try, we bounce off the street... No. That's no good either. We're like the animated movie, "Flight of Dragons," and we're John Ritter, magically put into the body of the a dragon named Gorbash and...

Oh, sod it all.
