Tie on your Sketchers, grab your Starbucks, and let's go watch some wrestling!
...WHY?!?!?

Because... Starbucks .. Sketchers and the Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment have all made it onto the latest "Blue Companies" (aka "Blue Fund") list.

This site has more updated information about Blue Companies (at this time anyway) than "Buy it Blue" which is also an incredible resource.

---------------------------------------------
http://www.bluefund.com/why-blue/blue-companies
---------------------------------------------

A message from the Blue Fund:

Actions speak louder than words

That's why, in addition to running our mutual funds, The Blue Fund and its advisor, Blue Investment Management are also actively engaging in shareholder resolutions and proxy voting in an effort to promote increased transparency in corporate political giving.

We are also committed to working with and supporting other progressive organizations, whether for-profit or non-profit, to promote Democratic values in business.

We are also actively coordinating with our partners to create a financial infrastructure that supports progressives and supports Democratic values.

---------------------------------------------

Did you know that....

---------------------------------------------

Kudos to those businesses who made it onto the comprehensive list of BLUE companies!

1. Starbucks, DOC MARTINS and Portland Wrestling
I had to fire a guy once, cause he was being charged with animal cruelty, he bit the head off a rabbit while someone took pictures for a Portland Wrestling Promo. I'm pretty sure I was drinking a Starbucks blend at the time. No Shit.

and Doc Martins are so much cooler than Sketchers. :eyes:

Portland Wrestling http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portland_Wrestling

The whole, grisly rabbit tale... http://www.wweek.com/editorial/2743/3101

7. Yeah, but Kraft owns Starbucks.
And Kraft is a very red, reTHUG-licking company.

http://www.buyblue.org/node/2913/view/summary

See the list of brands Kraft owns in the lower right-hand column under the "Information" tab. Kraft itself is 85% owned by Altria (aka Philip Morris), another huge reTHUG-licking company.

8. You sure Kraft owns them? Info says they have a sales agreement..
http://www.kraft.com/newsroom/07262004.html

"Tarrytown, NY, July 26, 2004 - Kraft Foods Global, Inc. (NYSE: KFT) and Starbucks Coffee Company (Nasdaq: SBUX) today announced an expansion of their supply, licensing and distribution agreement. The new agreement includes six additional Starbucks® coffees, three new distribution channels, and the national distribution of Seattle's Best Coffee® and Torrefazione Italia® brands. Specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed."

Starbucks is as a totally separate company with a 100% blue rating. http://www.buyblue.org/node/1898/view/summary

11. Good to know!
I had heard otherwise and then saw Starbucks listed on as a Kraft "brand" on Buyblue.

Thanks for the clarification!
