4. He again said Kerry should apologize for the gaffe
I guess Ford didn't watch Kerry's presser yesterday.

14. He didn't DWELL. He refused to stay on that topic. He bagged
Nora O'Donnell AND the RNC, and called them tools who insulted the people of TN, essentially.

9. .
Apologize for the gaffe like in a way what Kerry did (apologizing for a botched joke) or did he explicitly say that Kerry insulted the troops?

16. Someone in the Ford camp
should show it to Kerry or something. Kerry said his joke came out wrong but that was it.

20. It's already jumped the shark. It didn't have enough goose in the first place
Joe Lockhart just summed it all up--it's a wash. The GOP gets a short term moment of high dudgeon that will end up biting them in the ass.

Ya talk troops, ya eventually have to talk IRAQ. Ya talk IRAQ, ya talk about a hundred dead in October, lousy equipment, forced redeployment of wounded and PTSD troops, personnel shortfalls, no mission...the hits just keep on coming.

Oh, and where's OSAMA?

12. He said he wasn't giving the money back, and he basically called
Norah O'Donnell a GOP tool.

By money, he meant the hundred K he got from Kerry.

He also said the Republican NATIONAL Committee, with their hate filled ads were INSULTING to people from TN, shameful, disgraceful, unsuited for families and worse that the broadcast them at the dinner hour. He alluded that the stereotypes portrayed in the RNC ad 'talked down' to the people of his state and showed the LOW REGARD of the RNC for people from TN.

It was fucking brilliant.

He has no reason to apologize to Kerry - Kerry probably helped him plan it.

13. Well, me-we never stopped. I understand that all politics is local.
Those that don't get that may be well-meaning, but they are ideologues and fools.

As a Tennessean, I can tell you that it DOES matter to me whether he wins or not.

On Ford's original statement in a post I made on it he barely mentioned Kerry. He just said it was wrong and Kerry should apologize and than started talking about Bush's policy's and Iraq. Kerry did say his joke came out wrong but he wasn't going to apologize for being critical of Bush. Earlier this morning my mother said she saw an interview with a soldier who knew what Kerry was talking about.

picture-perfect republican shill that she should just resign and join FOX. :puke:

17. Send MSNBC an email to that effect. And urge others to do the same.
If they get enough emails, they'll shuffle her off.

BTW, I just did that.

11. Troops with access to net are smart enough to sift thru nonsense
and understand what Kerry was trying to say.

22. Even troops WITHOUT net access know what Kerry's all about.
Unless they are Cat IVs in the BushCo Army, in which case they probably have no idea who the man is in the first place.

25. Why would Kerry insult the troops? He WAS one, unlike the
chickenhawks! The rethugs will grab onto anything at this point.

Memo to rethugs: You will be "standing down" on November 7th!

19. As much as I disagree with Ford on this, I have to hand it to him.
He's staying with his message--not allowing those media hacks to distract him with "BUH...BUH...BUT WHAT ABOUT JOHN KERRY?!"

24. Ford is razor sharp, and the troops know what real support means, and it's not
putting and keeping them in the middle of a civil war in Iraq. Murtha today on MSNBC: Occupying Iraq is not working, and we must redeploy the troops now.

27. Ford's a smart guy, but he made a dumb mistake trying to emulate the Repubs
in too many of his stances and comments. It's going to take a near-miracle for him to beat Corker. Like Truman said: Give the voter a choice between a Republican and someone pretending to be a Republican, and they'll vote for the real Republican every time.
