A Kerry aide told CNN that the prepared statement, which had been designed to criticize President Bush, "was mangled in delivery."

Kerry was supposed to say, "I can't overstress the importance of a great education. Do you know where you end up if you don't study, if you aren't smart, if you're intellectually lazy? You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq."

But it's been a long campaign for everyone, and it's not a surprize that he goofed it one time.

He should be out campaigning and telling the joke once an hour now until the rethugs choke on it.

3. Kerry should have opened his appearance

before the press yesterday with the corrected version of the joke, said "That should settle it" and gotten the hell off the stage. I loved his defense of himself, but the media spun it as "Kerry's comments trying to defend himself were self-serving, harmed Dems," etc....all the crap you'd expect from the whores.

Simple minds (media and repuke politicians) require simple explanations. Nothing more.
