CNN reporter just said 'the white house is delighted" that people are
talking about Kerry instead of Iraq and "delighted" that Dems are fighting with each other over it.

We are the ones giving them their massive political erection.

8. that's a load of BS, Snivelly
and you know it.

If this is all the GOP has to be gleeful about, they are history.
They have no real surprises. So they must go back to the last time they actually had a chance of winning an election and rehash it.

Give me a break.

2. Yup. While "Baghdad is under siege"
http://news.independent.co.uk/world/middle_east/article1945769.ece
Sunni insurgents have cut the roads linking the city to the rest of Iraq. The country is being partitioned as militiamen fight bloody battles for control of towns and villages north and south of the capital.

As American and British political leaders argue over responsibility for the crisis in Iraq, the country has taken another lurch towards disintegration.

Well-armed Sunni tribes now largely surround Baghdad and are fighting Shia militias to complete the encirclement.

The Sunni insurgents seem to be following a plan to control all the approaches to Baghdad. They have long held the highway leading west to the Jordanian border and east into Diyala province. Now they seem to be systematically taking over routes leading north and south.

Anything to distract from this, even a missed "us" in a joke made last week will do.

5. No shit. If everyone would just shut up and concentrate on the
real problems we'd be in a lot better shape.

This is just a blessing dropped right in their laps and we're making it that way.

No more debate, no more bickering, no more bullshit.

THIS IS A NON-ISSUE.

The shit people get their shorts all wadded up in a bunch just never fails to amaze me. Everybody here bitched about people talking about Foley the Pederast (a REAL issue) and then the turn around and obsess over this.

What the hell is that?

6. I think the joke will end up being on them
I'm guessing GOPers who earlier had gotten fired up about GOTV might relax now thinking that the dems have already sunk themselves... and they'll let the GOTV effort lapse a bit.

Maybe?

7. Maybe we should stop talking about it on DU.....
and let it go away. It all seems so silly if you think about it. The Repubs even have everyone on DU fighting over something that shouldn't even be considered. Bush botches everything he says and no one seems to think it's a big deal.

9. The meaning I get out of this is that the WH thinks a public spat
with the Democrats is a good thing & whichever side gets the best licks in is going to win this election. They're "delighted" that this country is divided & is fighting! That should make that 16% approval rating for Congress grow before the election. :sarcasm:

11. Heck, Ed Henry probably read that right off the WH talking point for the day.
The clueless Ed Henry is a tool for whatever the Bush White House wants to get out on CNN. It's pathetic, really!
