Why Do The Dems Cannibalize Themselves?........
I'm upset by the lack of support Kerry has gotten from his fellow Dems. This was an opportunity for them to call the Repugs on what they are - do nothing opportunists - latching on to something that means nothing to avoid the sad reality of their failures. Instead of rallying around Kerry and supporting him - many Dems (including Hillary) abandoned him and called for him to apologize. That's playing right into the hands of the Repugs and *Co - instead of taking a stand and exposing this Kerry bashing as the stunt it was.

10. Keith let this country know tonight that in a way 2006 IS about Kerry and EVERYONE
Edited on Wed Nov-01-06 10:40 PM by blm
in this country and the troops who have been abused nonstop by the manipulations of Bush and his pack of thugs.

And WHY is Kerry the focal point - because he stuck his neck out for about the THOUSANDTH TIME when there are damn few who have and lived to tell about it.

11. REPEAT: THIS ELECTION IS NOT ABOUT JOHN KERRY
It's far more important than one man. It's about our survival as a country.

12. And THAT is what Keith was saying tonight - This episode with Kerry made it
a breaking point and another DEFINING moment for a REAL journalist, whether you like it or not.

14. ATTENTION: THIS EPISODE WAS ABOUT THE RIGHT WING LIE MACHINE
Another case study in their tactics of lies distortion and fake outrage. And of course, the media, who could have cut through the bs in 2 secs, but instead decided to serve the Bullshit on a Silver Platter.

And it merits my attention on that basis alone.

16. You Kerry defenders
are totally missing the point.

The guy is a wonderful person.

And a miserable failure as a strategic politician.

A savvy politician would never LET HIMSELF get in this situation a week before a national election.

17. I think you are missing the point -- re-read my post
This is just another example of the right wing echo machine. . .It was Kerry this time, it will be someone else the next time.

18. No it won't
Unless that person is another inartful pol like Kerry.

Clinton got hammered relentlessly by the rightwing noise machine and BEAT IT BACK.

It all depends on how good a politician someone is.

26. I completely agree.

But your message falls on deaf ears here. There is more energy defending and apologizing for this one politician than for making sure we retake Congress. The latter is what should be important at this point in our history. When cheerleading for a tangential cause overshadows the bigger, more important issue at hand, i.e., the election, these boards have truly gone off course. The momentum has been disrupted with this mess and I'm afraid it's gone.

19. This is why
Republicans base their ENTIRE campaign on "keeping Nancy Pelosi, and Hillary and Ted Kennedy out of power" out here and in MT and TN and vast tracts of land in our country. When they say something that is getting slammed, you sure as hell don't want to be identified as agreeing with that statement. I guess you could call it over-compensating. I definitely don't expect my candidate here to go down with John Kerry and it's totally unfair for you to expect my congressional candidate that has a very slim chance already to distract from his message and defend John Kerry. John is a big boy, he can defend himself and I hope he will. I think he's a good man and I don't want to see him get slammed anymore than anyone does around here.
