Early voting in Denver, CO. A sexy excerpt.
Edited on Wed Nov-01-06 11:25 PM by BleedingHeartPatriot
Having just moved, my husband and I registered in the City and County of the new residence.

We received confirmation from the city and county of our registration to vote.

All of this two weeks before the election.

He went to early voting tonight. The locations were posted on the Denver General Election website.

Since this was the first time he voted from this recent change of address, he anticipated long, arduous computer searches with questionable results.

Strangely enough, the information provided by the website was accurate. And, the early voting site was clearly visible from far away, as it was festooned with red, white and blue inflated balloons, 100 feet in the air.

He thought that since his driver's license did not yet reflect the change of address he could be challenged.

However, the phase one, or intake personnel, informed him of the process for filling out the required form and checked to make sure all the information required was filled out and he was sent on to phase two, or verification.

At that time, he anticipated a long wait, however, the data actually confirmed the change of address and his right to vote!

And given the controversy over touchscreen voting (which he's never done and which his wife thinks is evil) the voter representatives thoroughly and completely walked him through the process.

I say this because, he's a man and he thinks he knows everything.

Having presumed that he had cast his votes correctly, he repeated the process that was explained to him by his voter rep.

And, he was confidently ready to push the button three times to confirm his vote. However, on his first review, the aliens from space must have mismarked his ballot on several referendums.

So, finding that he was not perfect, he successfully corrected the errors and confirmed them an additional three times before casting his vote.

The process was completed with an electronic, as well as printed, confirmation of his vote.

The most important thing...he voted. And, I love him. :loveya: MKJ

edited to change the title of the OP to reflect the sexiness of voting. MKJ

3. .
As he was telling me about his experience, he emphasized the fact that an engaged election official made all the difference.
