The Non-profit Menendez rented space to was Head Start!
Edited on Wed Nov-01-06 11:29 PM by karynnj
My local paper asked the 2 candidates to get back to them on a question each - Menendez about the space he rented and Kean about what he wants to do in Iraq. Kean has come back with an answer - but the Menendez one blew me away.

Not through the actual answer, but in defining it the writer, mentioned which nonprofit Menendez benefited from by getting them funding per Kean.

It's HEAD START!!! My first question is why is this not out there as a known fact. Menendez explained their funding was from a formula - but I seriously don't know why that name is not out there. (I mentioned it to the person heading my county effort and he didn't know either.)

Why isn't this out there - Kean tries to make it sound shady.

1.  Democrats are just as corrupt as Repugs! NOT!
No comparison. Day and night.

2. This is that "Badabing" ad, right?
They've been showing it on MSNBC - supposed to be a take-off on the Sopranos - how lame. If people knew they were saying tough Sopranos mobsters were into scamming Head Start - it'd be even more pathetic than it already is. I can't imagine why Menendez hasn't knocked this back a long time ago.

3. I don't think it's just this
They are calling him a Hudson county boss and I think the implication is that the Hudson county Democratic party is like the Mafia. (What was even stranger is that the only Democrat running for one of the seats up on the town counsil had fliers against him saying he was the boss of our town's Democrats. This is a very placid suburban town - this was a new low.)

7. Oh funny
They have clearly lost their friggin' minds. You ought to get that piece by Frank Schaeffer leaving the Republican party because of smear tactics and send it into your local paper.

5. I think I need to re-title this and include Kerry in the title so it will be seen
:) This is the last time, I'll kick it - just wanted it to get out to as many NJ people who are likely canvassing and phone banking for Menendez - this was news to a group of us - who have been canvassing and phone banking. I think JUST saying Head Start rather than non-profit in our conversations with undecided people could help.

6. In spite of this the paper endorsed Kean
citing this as a problem, while admitting that Kean has a very slim resume, no real positions, but they end it by saying he should follow his dad's example. It is literally the weakest endorsement ever - which they say is just against Menendez. I wonder if someone is a Kean Sr friend.
