A question about the Ford sleazy ad
I was talking with my mother about the sleazy Ford ad and how he was on Bill Maher's about a week or two ago and he discussed it and my mother asked the question on how did they know if Ford went to the Playboy party in the first place? Were there public records? Were they spying on him? Was another republican there who saw him? What's the deal and how did they know? I was just wondering if that question has been answered.

1. I'd read it was a Super Bowl party that turned out to be paid for by Playboy...
...never thought he'd actually set foot in the Playboy mansion, itself.

2. I know all that
I'm wondering how the republicans knew that he went there. Do they give this information out?

Everyone and their mother who wants to 'see and be seen' in that type of venue goes to those things. Suckers buy TICKETS to be seen in proximity to celebrities. Ford went to the Jacksonville one, apparently, back in 2005. There was also a MAXIM Party, a NFL Commissioner's Party, and so forth--it's like the post-Oscar parties--different outfits put them on, and each has their own reputation (like the Vanity Fair Oscar Party is supposed to be "the best").

Here's some idiot's photos--he seemed thrilled with the ice sculpture: http://good-times.webshots.com/album/269586858NVHNBn

I note Jessica Simpson's ex-husband is in the shots, looking a bit shitfaced. There are lousy shots of Chris Rock and Ashton Kucher as well....

On edit: AD to win tix to the event http://www.playboy.com/commerce/email/ssn/11_17_04/index.html

7. Is Ford in any of those though?
I scanned through the pictures but didn't see him there like with Nick Lachey for example. Of course they would have shots of those people since they are celebrities. Who knew of Congressman Ford at the time??

9. No, that's just some punk's pictures--a kid who had tix. I don't subscribe
to PLAYBOY, but it is entirely possible that they had a photomontage of their party in the magazine and he was shown along with . It's not like the "celebrity" guests are kept secret. It's a big deal, that party--it's one of the three biggest organized parties of the entire "Superbowl experience."

And ROLL CALL, a Cap Hill subscription-required newsletter, noted his attendance way back in 2005--where was the "outrage" back then, you have to wonder? The issue is discussed in detail, here: http://www.pamspaulding.com/weblog/2006/03/nrsc-hits-harold-ford-with-big-pimpin.html

The fact that the GOP has to go back TWO years, to the 2005 Superbowl Party, to toss a little mud is telling.

3. There were eight thousand people there--it was a public event
You had to buy TICKETS to get in. See here: http://www.tickco.com/football/super-bowl/superbowl-playboy-party.htm

5. That's what I'm wondering
And to the person on if you had to buy tickets when I buy tickets to a concert or something do they give out that information to just anybody? Since Ford went there as a private citizen did he have to write down in records that he went there?
