Now That Kerry Apologized
Now that Kerry has apologized for his comments that supposedly insulted the troops I would like to know when the media is going to ask President Bush to apologize to men like my uncle. No, my uncle did not fight in Iraq or Afghanistan; he fought in another war. In the 1960's my 18 year old uncle went to Vietnam, a war Bush decided not to fight. Years later, at one of his father campaign events, Bush was asked by a reporter about the fact that he never went to Vietnam. Instead of Bush just saying he was sorry for not going to Vietnam Bush decided to insult the men who risked their lives in that country. Bush said, maybe they should have sent us (national guard members)we probably would have done a better job. Now that comment was a direct insult to soldiers who went to Vietnam. It has been at least 15 years without an apology from Bush. So, I am still waiting for my apology.

There also happen to be other Republicans who should be forced to give apologies to the troops. For instance, the Republican who said that America should not be concerned about the soldiers who are coming home and losing their homes in that those soldiers would have ended up that way regardless. How about the Republican who said that Americans should not feel bad about the things happening in Iraq because the only thing that is happening in Iraq is that a few soldiers are dying every day? Finally, what about Barbara Bush who asked why she should be concerned with soldiers dying in the first Iraq war? I am still waiting for my apologies. So when will the media make a big deal about the insults directed at troops by Republicans.

1. I didn't know Bush had said that about Vietnam.
That's really awful. Yes, it's just ridiculous the double standard.

3. TV
I saw it on TV once; however, very little was made of the comment. However, Bush really said that; it was sad.

4. Yeah, I think it's so pathetic that the repugs go around
demanding apologies. Kerry should never have made one, IMHO. He been nothing but honorable his ENTIRE life.
