Edited on Thu Nov-02-06 07:08 PM by cobaindrain
Hopefully the majority of Governors mansions as well.

which is a big deal, especially when it comes to campaigning. We'll have a D governor in NY and hopefully a D governor in battleground Minnesota to help campaign with our 2008 candidate.

8. I saw that and its great news
Which means many congressional races that hasn't shown up on the national radar is in play.I have said since our primary there are two districts in Indiana that we will win and hasn't made the national spotlight.
If so, just in Indiana we would pick up 5 seats....
Now that's optimistic folks

How High the Wave? Don’t Just Think 1994; Think 1974, 1958, 1982
By Stuart Rothenberg

<snip>

The national political environment currently is worse than it was in 1994, when the Democrats lost 52 House seats, eight Senate seats and 10 governorships, and when Republicans won GOP control of the House for the first time in decades.

<snip>

President Bush’s approval ratings are worse than Clinton’s were - Bush’s are in the upper 30s, while Clinton’s were in the mid-to-upper 40s - and the 16 percent approval rating for Congress in the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll ranks far below where Congress stood prior to the 1994 midterms (24 percent).

<snip>

With the national environment being as it is - and given the last round of redistricting, which limits possible Democratic gains - Republicans probably are at risk to lose as few as 45 seats and as many as 60 seats, based on historical results. Given how the national mood compares to previous wave years and to the GOP’s 15-seat House majority, Democratic gains almost certainly would fall to the upper end of that range.

10. Don't get too excited...
I heard bush had a huge heat gun delivered to the WH where they are going to thaw out OBL over the weekend and tell us all to be afraid...very afraid. I say be prepared, not scared.

12. 60 seats and I'll be happy
So will most of America. America deserves to be happy for a change, don't you think?

Really, to accept a threshold lower than 60 seats is to be a defeatist, and that's something people here are tired of. Heck, even one of the best, most respected pollsters has said it might happen. He's the pro, right?
