Sen. McCain: Americans Could Forgive Kerry
Senator John McCain of Arizona says that Americans will likely forgive Senator John Kerry's remarks about troops in Iraq.

At a Republican rally in Duluth, Minn., McCain was asked if Kerry's comments would be wielded as a campaign tactic through Election Day.

McCain replied that he has made numerous mistakes in his career and sometimes has even told a bad joke.

McCain said, "I just apologized. Americans are very forgiving...."

http://newsmax.com/archives/ic/2006/11/2/124740.shtml?s=lh

Um, bumbling a joke is like the ones he's told? Not *quite* the same, John. And the press wouldn't even REPEAT yours. It was "too vicious to print" said the Washington Post...

Earlier this month, at a Republican Senate fund-raiser, McCain told a downright nasty joke making fun of Janet Reno, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Chelsea Clinton....

"Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly?
Because her father is Janet Reno."

him, McCain has burned a lot of potential Independent bridges.

He does NOT have a snowball's chance in hell of getting elected as President.

I used to respect the man but I've lost that after he began lying and courting the nut case religious right.

Shame on you John McCain! You sold out. :(

him for his craven attack on Kerry, and Sullivan was a HUGE McCain supporter at one time.

6. Wow John there was a time when I actually thought you were relevant
I actually liked how you started your answers with Yes or No and you did seem like a straight shooter but now ...now you are just a sad shell of a man. You have sold off every bit of dignity that you held together in that hellhole for years and for what for the praise and support who accused you of being mental and gay and your wife a drunk or a pill popper and hinting that you had a baby with a black women. You even went to Liberty University and publicly sucked Falwell's balls.

Sorry you are on the list now. You should really be ashamed of what you have become.

9. Just another Repug showing his true colors - why is this surprising?
Same thing happened with George Allen, who many were touting as a GOP presidential candidate for '08. It's always nice to remind the American people what these people are really made of.

I wrote him off after he was cool with the Bush campaign viciously smearing him and his wife in 2000. But this is an outrage, really. Holy cow.

I'm tempted to post it every few weeks. There's always someone who hasn't heard it- I sure didn't at the time. The press covered for him. It cost him nothing. Hillary says she drinks with him. I can't relate.

16. The Worst Thing About McMain is
that he supposedly knows John Kerry. He supposedly is friendly with John Kerry. Fuck you McCain for the following reasons:

- John McCain knows damn well that John Kerry did not insult the troops.

- John McCain knows damn well that John Kerry did not call our troops "stupid"

- John McCain knows damn well that John Kerry saw the worst of the worst of war.

- John McCain knows damn well that Chimpy's dad got him into the National Guard so he wouldn't have to go to war.

- John McCain knows damn well that while he was getting the bamboo manicure, Chimpy was boozing it up in Floribama like a frat packer.

- John McCain knows damn well that Chimpy used racism and bigotry to beat him in South Carolina.

- John McCain knows damn well that when the country needed him, Dick Cheney managed 5 separate deferments.

- John McCain know damn well, that if his life depended on it, and he only could call on either John Kerry or George W Bush for help...HE'D CALL JOHN KERRY WITHOUT A SECOND OF HESITATION.

So, FUCK YOU JOHN MCCAIN!!

It takes a very special kind of scum to fill up a bag like McCain.

17. This is brilliant
and even after all that has happened in th elast 6 years, I think you are right about the last one. It would also be the right decision.

"John McCain know damn well, that if his life depended on it, and he only could call on either John Kerry or George W Bush for help...HE'D CALL JOHN KERRY WITHOUT A SECOND OF HESITATION."

In fact, for people who really know both of them, who wouldn't.

35. Great post!
And very true, especially the part about McCain being able to call on Kerry. I don't know if you ever read this article about Kerry and McCain, but there are some interesting quotes from each of them. Pretty revealing in light of McCains complicity of late.

Quote from Senator Kerry about Senator John McCain from a New Yorker article: http://www.newyorker.com/archive/content/articles/020204fr_archive03
(A Friendship That Ended the War by James Carroll - Issue of 1996-10-21 -Posted 2002-01-28.)

"I defended him in those hearings when some stupid-ass right-wing idiot accused him of being the Manchurian Candidate, that somehow the Vietnamese had brainwashed him. This is the most unbelievably callous, degrading, nonsensical piece of crap I've ever heard in my life, coming from some chicken hawk out there, to hurl at somebody who spent as long as he did being tortured and standing up for his country, and caring about it as much as he did. It's incredible that people would behave like that, absolutely stunning." - John Kerry

More from the same article:

Sometimes McCain was attacked by his fellow-senators and sometimes by witnesses. He was the lightning rod. I was told by a member of the committee staff that when Kerry and McCain were sitting near each other on the senators' dais, Kerry would, at such moments, unobtrusively move his hand over to McCain and place it on his arm and leave it there, a quiet gesture of what was becoming absolute mutual support. I asked McCain if he had been aware of Kerry's touch. "Yes," he replied. "He did that several times, and I'm glad he did. I'm grateful to him."

McCain can rot in Hell.

has been telling.

Senator McCain? Your failure to work with Republican leadership in order to kick off a formal Bush removal effort totally lost you the last of my respect for what little you've truly done for this country in the past. It's gone. You are a weak, pitiful waste of space. Shut the fuck up, go home and DIE like the insane, worthless asshole you are.

"Why are Jenna and Barbara Bush so ugly?
Because their father is Condoleeza Rice/Ann Coulter/Katherine Harris."

Someone should post that and then say they're trying to figure what jokes are acceptable, and show to McCain's joke.

I dislike McCain, and have since the hug. Tak about seeling out one's integrity for a chance at the polls.
