It turns out that LA far right wing talk radio host John Ziegler was the first one who picked up Kerry's verbal gaff. The Fox News video explaining this is on his webpage
http://www.johnziegler.com Mediamatters.org also credits Ziegler for being the first to pick up the single word omission.
OK, but here's the ironic part: right underneath that he's plugging his book "The Death of Free Speech" where he bemoans the pressure of political correctness and how "liberals" force people to use the right words to describe races, etc. (example: the Jimmy the Greek incident)
from Amazon:
"In THE DEATH OF FREE SPEECH, radio talk-show host and TV commentator John Ziegler examines how the news media has created arbitrary, biased, and illogical rules for determining what can and cannot be said in the public arena. He details how in almost every major case of "speech and punishment" in modern America, the guilty verdict was wrong and unjust."
Ziegler himself has been fired on more than one occasion as a result of his playing around with the "N" word on the air and playing with racist themes...
I understand this story is actually turning out to be a negative for the Republicans, so that's ironic, but I can't help but see the irony of how the person who broke the Kerry speech gaff himself complains about how much people are held to task for every little word they say in the public spotlight...
