Irony of talk radio guy who "broke" Kerry speech gaff
Edited on Fri Nov-03-06 11:08 AM by FormerRushFan
It turns out that LA far right wing talk radio host John Ziegler was the first one who picked up Kerry's verbal gaff. The Fox News video explaining this is on his webpage http://www.johnziegler.com Mediamatters.org also credits Ziegler for being the first to pick up the single word omission.

OK, but here's the ironic part: right underneath that he's plugging his book "The Death of Free Speech" where he bemoans the pressure of political correctness and how "liberals" force people to use the right words to describe races, etc. (example: the Jimmy the Greek incident)

from Amazon:
"In THE DEATH OF FREE SPEECH, radio talk-show host and TV commentator John Ziegler examines how the news media has created arbitrary, biased, and illogical rules for determining what can and cannot be said in the public arena. He details how in almost every major case of "speech and punishment" in modern America, the guilty verdict was wrong and unjust."

Ziegler himself has been fired on more than one occasion as a result of his playing around with the "N" word on the air and playing with racist themes...

I understand this story is actually turning out to be a negative for the Republicans, so that's ironic, but I can't help but see the irony of how the person who broke the Kerry speech gaff himself complains about how much people are held to task for every little word they say in the public spotlight...

3. Among many of his "accomplishments"...
John Ziegler is YARWRTSW (yet another right wing radio talk show WHORE).

He and that fucking asshole Mark Williams worked together in Philadelphia. Mark Williams, you probably don't recall, was one of the major shakers in the Governor Davis recall while Enron and deregulation were the real agents at California's energy problems.

Ziegler's schtick is to go on the air and talk about "principles", "truth", blaw, blaw, blaw. Everything, every one of this "conclusions" is right out of the Limbaugh handbook, although Ziegler likes to dwell more on sexual issues than Rush-bone. The latter being something which has gotten Ziegler into trouble on more than one occasion.

It ALWAYS amazes me how these guys talk about coming from a standpoint of reason and introspection, and yet, EVERY SINGLE ONE of their "ideas" miraculously is the same as what the Republicans stand for.

His only real "qualification" working in talk radio is a deep voice and a talent of shocking people because he's such a flaming asshole, providing him a never ending source of his outrageousness (aka, what a fucking asshole).

Oh, how I long for the day when people in broadcasting felt some sense of responsibility of KNOWING what they were talking about! It would mean CARING about your audience to an extent greater than simply getting ratings.

That he overhead John Kerry's little mistake instead of going to the bathroom, that he was able to inflate it to the point of having the president refer to is, while lucky for him, only speaks to how low the right wing is willing to sink in order to grab at whatever straws they can find.

It doesn't surprise me that he's making such a big deal about on his website. I guess it's like how Drudge has seemed to make a whole career out of being handed one, single story in 1993...
