So I rearranged my schedule (thank you to those of you whose appointments got changed) and flew to Washington on Tuesday to be at the signing on Wednesday. I sat with those from the Senate and House who voted for the bill, and afterward was escorted to the President's motorcade and taken to the White House. I and seven others were able to spend 55 minutes with the President in the Oval office discussing any issue we liked. It was incredible. I'll tell you about the discussion in church.

Attending the private meeting with the President were Rev. Jerry Falwell from Liberty University, Janet Parshall, author and host of the nationally syndicated radio broadcast "Janet Parshall's America," Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) President Dr. Jack Graham, former SBC President Dr. Adrian Rogers, American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow, National Religious Broadcasters President Frank Wright, and President of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission Dr. Richard Land.

(more at link)

edit to add: And according to this page, they held hands and prayed together later that same day:

As Bush signed the bill flanked by Christian right mandarins like Jerry Falwell, Lou Sheldon and Sen. Rick Santorum – an image seemingly calculated to rankle the 100 Planned Parenthood activists protesting outside the White House – cries of the ceremony's 400 attendees erupted in cries of "Amen!" Later that day, Bush celebrated privately with a virtual who's who of the religious right, including Falwell, radio host Janet Parshall, SBC leader Richard Land and National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) president Ted Haggard, who leads a 14,000 member church in Colorado Springs, Colo. Together, they joined hands and prayed.

20. Here is a good reason why one should never believe Falwell
"After he founded Soul Force, White was invited to Falwell's Lynchburg, Virginia, headquarters to make his case against homophobia to Falwell and his staff; afterward, Falwell pulled White aside and said his publisher wanted to do a sequel to the book White had penned. "He asked if I didn't tell anybody, would I write it for him," White recalls. Falwell also mentioned that one of his senior staff members was a gay man who lived with his partner; Falwell said he had told the aide that "if they didn't put Jerry in a corner, he wouldn't put them in a corner." In White's view, the Christian right interest in gay marriage isn't, in the end, so different from President Bush's: It arouses the base."

6. What is Falwell trying to hide?
Why would Falwell lie about this unless he also needs to keep some proverbial skeletons in the proverbial closet?

7. Fallwell is a LIAR!!!!
During the Clinton Impeachment process, Fallwell was on some talking head show and was confronted with his(Fallwell's) hawking of the Clinton Chronicles. The Clinton Chronicles was a right wing hit job that accused Clinton of every thing from the assassination of Abraham Lincoln to spreading the Black Plague. I saw Fallwell selling it with my own eyes, back in '93 or '94, on TV station, channel 63, Oxnard, California.
Fallwell would lie when the truth would serve him better.

14. Looks like that was taken down from his page
I found a link saying it was Falwell describing his experience that day:

http://www.falwell.com/confiden/index.htm

But it's not there. I can't find it cached anywhere.

Did you notice the paragraph mentioning who was at the meeting is almost identical to the one in my post above? Looks like Ann Coulter wrote it.

He just wandered the halls of the White House alone all night during those sleepovers.

22. If Falwell looked in the mirror, he'd see Haggard. IMOP, Falwell is also a fraud
who deceives people for money and power.

In fact, I wonder if those guys actually believe in God and Heaven and Hell. I can't imagine they'd act the way the do if they did.

25. Both were in White House's weekly conference call
Falwell is such a liar.

http://www.perrspectives.com/blog/archives/000482.htm

Note: it looks like Ted Haggard is now a non-person at Teen Mania's battlecry.com
(and other web sites):

http://battlecry.com/pages/partners.php

But Haggard show's in the cached version, a link to the
cached version is one this web page:

http://j-walkblog.com/index.php?/weblog/posts/ted_haggard_updates/

a Google search shows he was involved, as is Falwell:

http://www.demossnewspond.com/teen/releases/BattleCryWrap051806.htm

"This Fall, top Christian leaders including Ron Luce, Ted Haggard, and Jack Hayford will blitz the United States on a two-month, 40-city tour of senior pastor briefings called BattleCry Leadership Summits."

For some reason, I fee a bit uneasy about this image:
