Now that Haggard has admitted to buying meth from the gay prostitute,
http://www.9news.com/acm_news.aspx?OSGNAME=KUSA&IKOBJECTID=af1bbeba-0abe-421a-01e2-01ca2e4711bd&TEMPLATEID=0c76dce6-ac1f-02d8-0047-c589c01ca7bf

how does this impact the elections?

i say that this further demoralizes the far-right base, and people stay home in droves, dejected, let-down, broken-hearted.

and i think that Haggard will eventually begin to crack bit by bit, admitting to more and more of this sordid tale.

1. Not a bit..
it's just great gossip to get the Kerry story to seem like weeks ago.

There are no undecides in the dirty 30... they have denial on their side.

2. The wilderness
Maybe the Will go off to the wilderness and pray, as some of their leaders have suggested.

3. Reverend Tweak Boner
Will undoubtedly preach again.

Once you've had the KoolAid®, it's hard to NOT believe. There are 14,000 sheep without a shepherd now and they'll believe anything to return to "normal" and go to church "like they used to."

See: Jimmy Swaggart.

4. It'll help us out a bit, but not much.
In a vacuum, this wouldn't help at all, but when taken with Foley, Sherwood, etc... This just adds to a growing disillusionment among fundamentalist voters.

5. MSNBC just played the interview from this morning...
that man is soooooo lying.

"I bought meth from him but I threw it away. I've never used it before"

I call BULLSHIT.

6. Did you notice he said..
I bought meth, but I did not use it with 'him'. Didn't say: never used it - just I did not use it with him.

10. I would expect no measurable impact
i say that this further demoralizes the far-right base, and people stay home in droves, dejected, let-down, broken-hearted.

Your true far-right voter will either A) refuse to believe it or B) write it off as an aberration and vote anyway.

12. He was one of the saner nutcases
He was opposed to gay marriage but he actually supported equal benefits for domestic partners, which really surprised me - I'd never heard any of the right-wing anti-gay evangelists make such a distinction.

15. What are the laws in colorado on purchasing and possession
of a drug like crystal meth?

Statute of limitations?

Why haven't the police arrested this asshole and started an investigation for drug possession. Zero tolerance and all that.

He admitted to what he thought the church fundies might forgive him... and that a stint in "rehab" would fix... but it's also highly illegal!

16. You have to be caught with it, or high on it
basically. Accusations or admittance of use, they can't do much.

18. blood - gone in a few days...
urine - usually gone in a few days
Hair - depends on the length (1-2 inches per year, I think)
In my case, they could go back 10-12 years, at least :scared:
