Mike Hatch calls reporter "Republican Whore" causing firestorm!
Send Money! http://www.hatch2006.org/
-----
The Duluth News Tribune reported today that DFL gubernatorial candidate Mike Hatch called one of its reporters a "Republican whore" on Thursday.

Hatch said Friday morning his recollection was that he used the word "Republican hack," not whore, but multiple reports of angry responses to reporters prompted Republicans to step up their line of attack on Hatch's as too intemperate and hotheaded to be elected governor.

"The long-awaited meltdown of Mike Hatch has begun," Republican Party Chairman Ron Carey said.

7. That's the most important thing...
but he is hot-headed. The biggest result will be higher GOP turnout. I don't think it will change many minds as people are voting on the issues this year, especially in Minnesota.

9. The more I think about this...
the more I realize maybe, just maybe, it'll help him. GOPers are the ones to be offended and in Minnesota they were mostly going to vote anyway. Independents and those who like Hatch's bluntness and hate media bias and Republican mind games may not care or at least appreciate what's behind his words.

But most importantly: He may have just won the Ventura Vote!

22.  I think you've hit on something.
Minnesotans seem to like their governors feisty rather than dignified and bland. Look at Rudy Perpich, Arne Carlson, and Jesse Ventura. They were always ready to take on anyone! And Jesse was constantly skirmishing with the media, especially the St Paul Pioneer Press.

10. Wait, isn't this Minnesota? They elected a pro-wrestler, Jesse Ventura. I think
Minnesota can handle a hothead!

11. Exactly, plus he's playing this off well by claiming he...
at least meant "hack" and people will see question whether it wasn't a Republican game. Overall they're voting on issues. Gosh I hope he wins.

13. LOL. "Firestorm". Here in MN, we don't get that riled up about anything.

He probably didn't say it and even if he did...he's a bulldog who speaks the truth.

Impact on the election? Zero.

BUT...he IS being targeted by the SwiftScum this weekend. Massive anti-Hatch dollars pouring into the state and due to a loophole in election laws, the vile GOP pigs don't have to identify themselves. Their filthy little secret is out though...definitely the SwiftScums. Fasten your seatbelts.

14. I'm a Minnesotan...
and I know it won't affect most people, but it will affect a few. In some parts of the state it's having more of an impact than others.

Hopefully the swiftboaters will backfire, taking the Hatch issue off the table. In the meantime, Duscherer should be stuffed in the back closet.

18. How did the MN GOP respond when Bush called a reporter an asshole?
And then Cheney agreed saying "big time."

Did the MN Gop attack Bush as "as too intemperate and hotheaded to be elected" president?

19. Good point...
Many people already knew he was blunt. That may be a little blunt for some, but those are Pawlenty fans in the first place. The biggest damage from this is the distraction.
