AP already panning a Democratic congress for not "working with" Bush
One of what will surely be many trial hooks floated here by the lazy, Bush friendly AP.

Gridlock need not be inevitable for Bush, Democratic House
...Fresh opportunities abound if, as predicted, Democrats win control of the House _ and somewhat less likely the Senate _ next week, but success will require both sides to suppress bitterness and payback urges.

Yeah, because we all know how hard it will be for George to get over Democrats forcing him to call them troop hating terrorist appeasers. And no one could expect him to relenquish his bitterness over how he's had to subvert the Constitution with signing statements and illegal surveillance. And Commander Codpiece will surely want to preemptively payback any future attempts to oversee his war, and his administration's rampant waste, fraud and corruption. He can only take so much!

"White House officials do not expect that a Democratic-controlled Congress would work with them in any sincere or meaningful way," said George C. Edwards III, a political science professor at Texas A&M University. "True or not, this perception could become a self-fulfilling prophecy."

Nice try, but oh PUHleeze! Like all the bushies will be lined up on the WH portico with open arms longing for the Democrats to be sincere. Nothing directly from the admin in this whitewash, but they did find a gruuuuuusomely obstructionist dem to comment-

"Whatever influence (Republicans) have, it will be more than they have over me," said Rep. Collin Peterson, D-Minn., who would become chairman of the House Agriculture Committee. "Because what they have over me will be zero."

Thank you, Rep Peterson!

The AP runs through some presidents who worked successfully across the aisle (as if *that's* any indication that Junior has it in him). Bush will not be one of those and it will in no way reflect poorly on Democrats. Rather, it will sanctify them as defenders of what remains of our Bill of Rights, our reputation and our national character.

1. Gee, and after all the effort B*shCabal™ spent to work with us!
There has NEVER been an administration as blatantly
unconcerned with doing its DUTY to the PUBLIC as this one;
NEVER has any president made it so clear that he only
cared about those who voted for him.

No president has EVER so clearly told half of America
to shut the fuck up because he just doesn't CARE about them.

And now the paid media-whores who made his atrocities possible
are gonna blame the devastation of our once-great nation
on those evil liberals who "refuse to work with the president".

Our victories on Tuesday fall far short of even BEGINNING
to repair the real problems of our nation.

2. The notion that the onus for bygones rests with Democrats is infuriating
Democrats who, btw, have been squeezed out, shut out and shut down by junior's thugs. Him and his non-existent mandate. UGH!

Nancy and Harry better hustle up and wrench the microphones away from these salavating sycophants who fancy themselves to be journalists.

4. And that meme is put in place by the CORPORATE MEDIA.
We need to rip them a new one as much, if not more so,
than we need to hold the Repubs responsible for their High Crimes.

They are a LARGER, more INSIDIOUS villian than the sorry little
thieves elected to (R) offices ever could be.

3. Oh So
the whole time the republicans were in charge during President Clinton's presidency and he had a time trying to get them to cooperate and they wouldn't, well that was OK. But the democrats should cave into bush..because he's the dictator.

6. The media wants to set the agenda
It's just like the impeachment thing.

They've been doing their best to get Dem leaders to commit to not impeaching Bush or getting involved in real investigations.

They are setting them up so that if the Dems do start turning over rocks, the story won't be what was found--but that the Dems were turning over rocks, when they said they wouldn't.

The Dems should tell them to stick it.

If the Dems reach across THIS aisle with THIS group I will never vote for them again. IT'll be Green forever.

Their goal should be to stop anything Bush wants to do any way they can unless it clearly makes sense. Somehow I doubt it will.

5. Bush's policy is "My way or the highway"
Democrats say wiretapping should be done with warrants as required by law.
Bush says. "They don't want us to listen in on terrorists."

Democrats don't think we should keep our troops in Iraq indefinitely.
Bush says, "They wanna cut 'n' run and leave the oil fields in the hands of the terrorists."

Most Democrats oppose the use of torture in interrogations.
Bush cries, "They don't want to let the CIA question terrorists."

Democrats want to restore taxes on the wealthiest Americans to pre-Bush levels and lower the deficit.
Bush whines, "They'll raise taxes on everybody and ruin the economy."

Bush is not exactly setting the stage for a productive bipartisan relationship. As he sows, so shall he reap.
