Families of Fallen...Make Trip to Iraq
aka "Stupid Fruitless and Desperate Campaign Trick of the Day"

Families of fallen soldiers make surprise trip to Iraq!
By Judi McLeod

Iraq- It was a figurative blaze of yellow ribbons when families of fallen U.S. troops made a precedent-setting trip to Iraq in a stunning show of appreciation for the courageous men and women whose volunteer service keeps the free world a place where liberty is cherished.

Under the cover of absolute secrecy, and against all odds, the parents of troops who died in Iraq made it to the war-torn country without a single media outlet discovering the year-long trip plans...

...
Momentously and close to the heart, the trip will also allow these parents to see the newly liberated Iraq that their children gave their lives for.

...
The families of fallen soldiers will report to the American people about the progress in Iraq not being reported by mainstream media.

Smiles, hugs and words of encouragement will be wholeheartedly given to the troops, criticized by a liberal-left media.

...Etc

Folks, this is desperation. I like it a lot!

1. I'm sorry, but just like when the damn dignitaries visit, they
are putting more pressure on an already overstretched, overstressed military by going there. Also, noone knows what may or may not happen the next few days with the Saddam verdict about to come out...........I've talked to many troops, and hell they can't even leave some bases over there. I feel for these parents, I too support our troops and tell them daily, but by going there into harms way may cost more of our soldiers lives. If they had to do this, why did they not just keep the trip secret until they returned? I hope their trip is uneventful and they safely return.
