I live in Colorado and appreciate your posting about this. Here's my note that includes your summary, too-

Why have you misinformed your readers about Kerry's statement? I've read the entire text of what Kerry was referring to and he obviously meant that if people don't study and have a sense of history, they could wind up getting our country into a war like ours in Iraq.

President GW Bush didn't even know there were three culturally distinct groups living in Iraq until right before the war. He's a man who got access to Yale and Harvard based on his name and family wealth. He treated his educational experience like an afterthought.

So we suffer an ignorant, incurious president. Kerry knows it, I know it and I would bet that so does the editor of the Greeley Trib. Keeping your readers ignorant of the truth is an act of deliberate irresponsibility.
