I want to help, but I don't do phones. What can I do? |
|
I am off on Tuesday. I would like to help, but I am morally opposed to calling people on the phone. I don't like getting junk calls (even for good causes) so I can't be calling others. I live in North Jersey and I am off that day. Is there anything else I could do like driving people to the polls or something?

1. Why don't you call a senior citizens' center tomorrow and |
|
ask whether they need help driving people to the polls?
(I don't do phones, either. :scared: )

1. You already named one - join a pulling operation and drive seniors/disabled to the polls.
2. Be a poll watcher - e-mail/call Move On or the Dems in your area and make sure the vote is fair.
3. Go to main street or a shopping center in a NJ town or city and hand out flyers reminding people to vote (for Dems).
4. Make sure your family and friends vote.
5. Contact your local Dem organization (especially in NJ) or the Menendez campaign and ask what you can do to help.

3. Contact your local Democratic Party and drive people. |
|
They should have lists of people who need rides to the polls and help getting inside to vote.

5. You can show-up at a polling station, find someone holding a sign.. |
|
for a politician you want to support, and ask if they have an extra sign for you to hold.
Bring a pair of gloves, even if you don't think you'll need them.
That's my idea for a truly last-minute opportunity.

Call your county election office and ask if they still need any clerks. I'm an election judge and I was freaking out about getting enough clerks (poll workers). (I'm with you, I hate calling ANYONE -- even my friends!)

Get a sign and stand on the side of a busy street campaigning.
Make a caserole or cookies and take it to the Dem office for those who are calling or working,
Send individual emails to people you know throughout the country explaining why they should for Dem in their state.
