Timing of Noe gifts-followed move of state money
Timing of Noe gifts hints cash was from coin funds; contributions followed move of state money http://www.toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061105/NEWS02/611050362

Back in September, assistant Lucas County prosecutor John Weglian whetted the appetite of Democrats throughout Ohio and Washington.

Just a month before the embezzlement trial of former GOP heavyweight Tom Noe was to begin, Mr. Weglian said he would prove why Noe got $50 million from the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation to invest in rare coins.

Politics.

"The monies that were transferred to Mr. Noe were transferred not because of the nature of his business but because of his political connections," Mr. Weglian said during a pretrial conference on Sept. 13.
