Dean on ABC having to explain and explain to George..Video
Poor George, he just doesn't understand things. He was pumping Howard Dean on every statement, pumping, arguing....

Yet he gave Cheney a pretty easy time.

Our Democrats have to explain everything at least 10 times to the talking heads.

ABC misrepresented this interview...they said it was to discuss Kerry. Kerry was not even mentioned.

Kudos to Howard for doing so well in the face of such arguing and misrepresenting. Good grief, our media is pathetic.

2. I don't know how he kept his cool and was so calm.
I seldom watch This Week. Is George always this argumentative?

4. The talking heads seem to reserve their arguments for Democrats.
:hi:

7. That's right, they don't give the Republicans any lip.
(Actually they do, but not on camera. :D )

6. I thought he was magnificent too. And it made me remember how
he was so smart and forthright when he was running for President and how he was taken down by a disgusting media frenzy over the "yeoaaargh" thing - over, literally, nothing. They made this great man a laughingstock and deprived us the opportunity to have potentially avoided a horrible catestrophic war.

If I were queen of the world, I make Chris Mathews and Rush Limbaugh and Wolf Blitzer and every other blathering nitwit "pundit" reveal how many times they played that tape to ridicule Dean. Then I would have them look at the photograph of every single dead American and Iraqi for one hour each for each time they played the tape. Maybe then they would realize how their stupid pontificating can actually be responsible for death and mayhem.

5. i disagree.
he countered cheney on the tax break hyperbole.
i believe that he gave dean a really good interview:
he allowed dean to distinguish his position and those of the dem leadership from those of the pukes. he allwed dean to discount rumors that the dems were only in this for vengeance, etc.

i agree that dean did admirably well.

12. To be fair, I only heard half of the Cheney thing...
I had to leave the room because I can't stand him. Agreed, Dean had a chance to counter stuff, but he really did not have to have such a tough grilling in order to present it.

8. To be fair, it's pointless to grill a republican. They won't stray off the talking points.
A Democrat, on the other hand, might actually answer your questions.

11. Now that is true.
Maybe it is useless to question Republicans.

9. Them nasty ole' dems will roll back the tax cuts for big oil and pharma and
maybe for the most affluent among us. Horrors upon horrors, a calamity for it is much better to have perpetual several hundred billion dollar annual budget deficits than for big oil and pharma and the most affluent to pay as high of a percentage of their marginal income to Uncle Sam as do the middle class. Horrors upon horrors: it would be the end of life in the western world as we has known it, bringing ruin on our civilization. Be afraid Amurikans, be very afraid. :)

13. Let's be fair. The talking heads are in a tax bracket that says
"bought and paid for by the RNC." They are working for their own best interests. They do not want to be taxed at a higher rate. They are multimillionaires. They have nothing in common with us. That is why I do not watch.

10. Dean was awesome, Staph is jealous
Dean handled the questions and got the agenda out front in excellent style.

Staph must be bitter because he decided to abandon the Dem party for a career as a news reader and corporate apologist.

14. ABC charges for transcripts? I did not realize that.
I guess I will have to transcribe a part I want in the interview.

15. DNC has a lot of the transcript up at the blog. Cooking the deficit books.
One part, he said Bush is cooking the books about the deficit.

http://www.dnc.org/a/2006/11/governor_dean_o_20.php

"One of the things that's happening is the Bush Administration is cooking the books on the deficit. The deficit is actually a lot bigger than it really shows. Some of that is left over from years and years and years of borrowing from the Social Security trust fund which doesn't show up in the budget deficit. Some of it is left from cooking the books and they hide things. All of these emergency resolutions used to finance the war in Iraq, none of those appear on the deficit. So, the deficit is bigger than we think and its really a serious problem. I think we could promise that we will not raise taxes on the middle class. We would like to cut the tax on the middle class. I think that making a promise like that is irresponsible until we get in there and find out what's really in those books because the books are not kept honestly."
