Sign pledge here if you'd like http://naacp.com/get-involved/arrive-with-5/pledge BUT JUST GET US 5 Voters!

Post your plans here On this Thread... Inspire us! I'm taking the day off to GOTV!
So far I have signed up to be a Human Billboard at a Busy Intersection During Rush hours

I'm planning on a few hours of phone banking in the middle of the Day and then back to Human Billboard in the PM...I'm trying to come up with an Eye-catching Outfit!
How 'Bout You?

Most of them agree that the U.S. is headed in all the wrong directions, and that voting Dem is their best chance.

10. Well I would bring 5, but there's not much to vote for
KY-06 is Democratic and Rep. Chandler is running unopposed. There's no gubernatorial nor senate races in my state. There's no ballot initiatives or amendments on the ballot that I'm aware of. In my county, all the office holders are Democratic and they're all running unopposed in the general election. The only competitive election is for county coroner. LOL It's really hard to get excited for voting where I'm located! :-(

You can contact occasional dem voters in battleground districts from the comfort of your own home! Just 'cause you live in an uncompetitive district, doesn't mean you can't fight the good fight.

11. We take the dog for a walk everyday. Our GOP neighbors
Edited on Sun Nov-05-06 10:25 PM by Erika
had a "Republicans for Brady" sign in their yard and we visited with them today. Brady is the democratic nominee for governor in Idaho! Remember, this is Idaho. They felt our government is headed in the wrong direction and electing dems will make a positive change and wake the GOP up.

Idaho Republicans for Grant also have a big momentum going. Grant is Dem.

17. In the townhouse community that I live in...
I've posted "Tuesday is Election Day" with a map to the polling place in our Election District on all of the central mailbox locations.

Simple. Nonpartisan. Effective? We'll see.

Unfortunately, I took about as much time as I could off from work for purposes of canvassing, literature, and gotv. So aside from one more phone bank list from MoveOn.org, my work for 2006 is about complete.

Tuesday we find out how well our efforts have paid off! Congratulations and thank you to everyone who participated, both physically, mentally, and financially!

27. On election day I will drive voters to the polls
from one of the low income seniors high rises in my city.

So far this election cycle I registered voters at a busy shopping center in a dem part of town, canvassed voters door to door with the Larry Kissell Campaign, did a Moveon party, and phoned for the local democratic party. Tonight will be another phone bank. Phew!

Melissa, what is the Bush Administration going to do next? The only way to restore checks and balances is by electing a Democratic Congress. Here is what you can do to help:

First, Vote.

Second, make sure everyone in your family and your friends vote. Call them now.

Third, if you can, help us on our final drive to Get Out the Vote. To volunteer to help out today or on election day, you can e-mail smalls@dccc.org, or go to the DCCC volunteer site http://www.dccc.org/voter_turnout_fund/.

You can also contact your local Democratic Campaign to see how you can help on election day. Karl Rove just dismissed Democratic GOTV efforts as "sporadic and episodic" -- lets prove him wrong on election day.

Fourth, if you experience or see any irregularities, immediately call 1-888-DEM-VOTE (1-888-336-8683). You can also call this number to obtain information on poll locations. We're not going to sit by and let anyone steal our votes this time.

Finally, lets check out the returns together. Tomorrow on my web site http://johnconyers.com/ I will post information on how you can get breaking news on the election returns.

Thank you for your support. And please vote.

Your Friend,

John Conyers, Jr.

34. I teach about 100 community college students
and I've been talking about the election for weeks. We've had lessons on income tax and the federal debt and deficit. We've talked about logic and fallacies, using campaign ads as examples. I don't tell them what to think but I lead them to some inevitable conclusions. Their comments are much more political than mine and they're hopping mad! So now I'm reminding them to vote!

36. Yesterday was spent in MoveOn's Call for Change
Tomorrow I am taking the day off and hauling any Democrat who needs a ride to the polls and calling people when I'm not driving.

Yesterday when calling for Call for Change, I had a lady tell me she wasn't interested. I had to ask her incredulously, "You're not interested in your country?". Apparently not.
